I finished the first one a while ago, although I had some trouble moving around the room because my mouse is a POS. I haven't even tried the others yet. ^^;

Quickie review of the rooms:

Crimson Room- Hunt for hotspots to find all the arbitrarily hidden items, then put them together in an outlandishly simple fashion.
Viridian Room- Hunt for hotspots to find all the arbitrarily hidden items, then put them together in an all but nonsensical fashion.

(I suppose Viridian Room does make sense if you *spoiler* before trying to put things together, but I just thought *spoiler* was as random as finding the hotspots. It didn't help that I hadn't found the random hotspot that allowed me to *spoiler*, so I looked up how to put things together and thought it was random because I hadn't *spoiler*ed yet. "The *spoiler* has to be
*spoiler*???
")

MOTAS is a bit better in that the connections are (generally) not obvious but actually make sense, and almost all of the hotspots are obvious.

I went all the way through "The Mystery of Time and Space" last night. I found the hardest parts were going back and forth through the rooms trying to find the chair or cabinet I forgot to check. After a while it just becomes a click-a-thon. It doesn't stand up to the classic point-and-click adventure games I used to play back in the late 80's. Hmmm, I wonder if there are any websites out there about them...

Good fun, though. Not as difficult as it was time consuming.

Completed the Crimson Room, too. The tricky part is finding where exactly you can click to look for stuff. I couldn't get the Veridian Room to load, for some reason.

How far does MOTAS go these days? I got to level 12 or 13, but don't want to replay the whole thing if there's just one new level. I'd rather replay Riven again. (Cyan realized a while ago that pixel-hunting isn't fun; there are about three or four inobvious hotspots in the entire 5 CD game)

Okay; I've seen the beta of that level. Guess it'd be better to wait to see if he comes out with another one.

Viridian Room was disappointing; in the end I went and got spoilers from a website - turns out I could actually pick up something I thought I couldn't, and because it was situated so closely to the (invisible) "back" button, I didn't catch on. Quite frustrating, and completely nonsensical as others have said.

I really enjoyed MOTAS. Can't put my finger on it, exactly, since it is certainly lacking when compared to many point-and-click adventures and has its faults. But I really liked its concept and style, and I rarely got hugely angry at it. And I liked the music too ;)

Tried the crimson room, and (semi-spoiler in small text follows):

I couldn't get past the little movie projector thing. What do I do after that? Someone please PM me with an answer, it's really bugging me.

OK - help. I'm getting quite frustrated & I'm only on level 2 of MOTAS.

~~~~~~~~~~~~SPOILER QUESTION~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It seems obvious to me that I have to use the sharp pin on the diskette box...but I can't hold them both at the same time. What's the trick? Or am I completely off-base here?
19.134 then I right clicked by mistake - Im quite impressed by otaku's score.
~~~~~Spoiler Answer~~~~~

You hold the pin and then click the box IIRC... that should do the trick (let me go back and double check)

I can get out of the Crimson room but I can't do the second one. I've seen those before, they're really fun :D
I really need to find a good quote
