this is the best plan I can think of. very likely, 2-3 of them die tonight.

worst play: if they circle protect IPS+Ico die at least, then if I crit (likely) random dies.
chaos play: if they collab 3 protects to steal the crit, one of us (me in this scenario rofl) has a good chance of dying. they then take two 50/50 shots at other cyclopes.
best play (still not great): if they collab 2 protects on IPS or Ico and 1 protect on random then there's an ok chance they cancel my crit on random.



warning: there is a chance 3 cyclopes and only 1 traitor die. 2v2 will be interesting. but this chance is so small
in all other scenarios it's a team cyclops win!


then tomorrow we probably lynch the final traitor
and then descend into chaos

First thing's first, I didn't follow the worst's plan yesterday, but I did so in a way designed to benefit the group.

A circle protect means we all have one protect. If the two outside our group had cross protected, then EVERYONE would be at 1 protect and thus have a supercharged kill, meaning 1-2 of our members should have died.

Instead, I protected the worst, because I thought he was the most likely NK target for both of the outsiders. The worst had the superkill, and no one should have been able to guess that there was an unprotected member of the group. It paid off.

I love you for this.

The circle protect was a fear thing, it forced them to collaborate if they wanted a single kill. I hoped to bait Ico/IPS kills myself and kept referring to the crit/no. of protects+kills in the hope someone would realise.

THE PLAN!
To maximize the chances of a perfect Team Cyclops victory, we should protect in the circle the worst suggested yesterday. This plan supercharges every kill, meaning that none of the protects will matter and every kill made WILL go through. Anything else, and a random everyone dies becomes impossible. Everyone should choose their kill independently, whether by rolling dice or not. We should not discuss those decisions in thread to prevent any accidental kill organization, but it's entirely up to you how you determine who to shoot. If everyone dies, we have a legitimate chance of having EVERY TEAM CYCLOPS MEMBER SHARE THE WIN EQUALLY, which I believe to be a glorious outcome deserving of this mighty game. If not, then the pool of people alive will decrease, making such a feat more likely every night for the remainder of the game. This maximizes everyone's chances of winning.

So to clarify: circle protect & random kill (if Poker is ok with that)? Preplanned circle kills are no good.

In short I think night start is stronger.

Night start locks us into a time period in which we're forced to discuss, make alliances, etc. Day start is pro QL and generally means someone is gonna lose out due to sheer RVS

IMO, ganging up on lurkers is a bloody entertaining way to play EOIASK. How do you feel, Poker?

That's an interesting conundrum. I can see the strength in both points of view. From a play point of view I think I prefer the night start but the 'serial killer experience' so to speak is certainly stronger from a day start pov.

Mostly, I think it's the set timer that makes me swing nightstart.

I'll be keen to see what others think, particularly those who have played more than once.

Given that there's no reason not to start planning as soon as the signups open and we can talk at night, night start just makes sense.

RB being more in line with actual SK play is also true, although being convincing enough town to pull the doc protect is like the best SK play possible.

in that case I kinda think it is kinda stronger without the limited blocks. endgame mechanics are a lot cleaner.
the wifom around limited blocks is cool but I'm not really sure it becomes hugely beneficial to play, even if used optimally. :c
at best it might stall endgame by a phase?
