thank you for the suggestion!
@Malkon, can you let me know what your ruling on this is? If rock operas/rock musicals count then I am 100% singing phantom of the opera (edit: can’t actually tell if this counts as a rock musical..)
Also I remembered that evanescence exists and I think that falls under rock? so I will probably sing an evanescence song, if rock operas don’t count.
too much effort to figure out what is and isn’t a rock opera so evanescence it is!

If it makes you feel any better, I did the same thing!
Also, should there be any restrictions on editing/audio effects we use? I sort of thought it had to be a "live" performance. Otherwise, we could record each line several times and edit them together, then add reverb or pitch correcting. (Or the people with music editing skills could, anyway.)
Same here!
I also assumed we weren’t really supposed to be editing, since the real show is all live, right?

That all sounds fine/fair to me, I think my biggest issue would be with like corrections of pitch etc. I guess haschel just sounds really barbershop quartet-y naturally!

I tried again and managed to hit the notes but it kind of just sounds like I’m screaming so idt this is the song for me I could probably do it if I had more than a week to regain my range, but alas. It could have been an awesome singoff!

I actually made trial recordings of on my own, satisfied, and music of the night! lol
mina and tool both captured their characters really well, I think. I'm not super familiar with some of the other musicals so I couldn't say on those. let me know if anyone wants specific feedback from me - this is probably the one category I'd feel comfortable talking about

Er... what are the boundaries around subject matter/profanity?
I’m working on writing up feedback for people but I got complained at last night for singing and waking up my bf D: so I’ll try to get to that later today

My general warmup is like - scales going up/down, variations of scales to mimic jumps between notes, and then another exercise that I will try to describe but may be very confusing: in a neutral/relaxed voice (almost like speaking), I "sigh" and hit the lowest note in my speaking range and then slide my voice all the way up to the highest note in my speaking range (as if you're really surprised), and coast back down to my neutral speaking area, and repeat (it kind of feels like doing a roller coaster with my voice). I also usually pick one of these 3 things to do with a lip trill to practice my breath support (kind of like blowing a raspberry). you can probably google these things for more detail (although I still am not really sure what to call the third thing).

I think I sent feedback to everyone who said they were interested! Let it be known that I am not good at remembering to note positive things so I'm sorry if I forgot to do that in your feedback, I mostly tried to suggest 1 or 2 things that I would have done differently. Even if I didn't say it in your pm specifically, I thought you all were great <3

So I guess I have no choice but to give another 24 hour extension, but I really need y'all to like...please let me know if you need extensions or like give me some indication when you are submitting in the future please. More communication = Happy Malkon <3
Sorry, I was planning to send in my recording pretty close to the deadline. I think I went way too hard last week and I’ve basically been trying to rest my voice for as long as possible before singing this round’s recording. If we have another 24 hours I’m probably just going to wait until tomorrow afternoon because my vocal chords are still kinda wrecked

just feeling a bit overwhelmed with life at the moment <3
if it hadn't been 70s songs I'd probably have kept going, but I really really struggled with finding a song and was having flashbacks to earlier rounds that sucked for me and didn't think it was going to be worth it. I changed my mind at the last minute but then couldn't find a good song anyway so
my Eurovision pick would have been Rise Like a Phoenix
