Second and third ones are better but they might get confused with Exsecant? Gold is worse than what it currently is, though (at least on MafSepia).

It does apply to 40% of the numbers in this game which is close to our 50%, but sure.

And yes, IMO watching Sirius play solitaire all game will get unfun very quickly if it hasn’t already.

Keep up Haversine’s idea by playing
8, 10, and 40 as “numbers that, when spelled normally in English, have no duplicated letters
(ie. the number 1,000,000 wouldn’t count due to both the “N” and the “L”).

Okay let’s go very weird and go with:

69, 529, and 14 as “integer multiples of the jersey numbers from the starters on the Los Angeles Lakers in their game on August 13” (those jersey numbers are 23, 88, 5, 7, and 14)

Could also try numbers within eight of a perfect cube? That hits exactly 50 of 1-100 but the percentage shrinks considerably when you look at a larger range.

Does that hold for things above 88 as well? I don’t know if the lowest and highest keys on a keyboard are a half-step (plus however many octaves) apart or not.

Edit oh I can’t read

Your team still has a multiple-bingo lead though and had as many points as both of our teams combined until the last turn, “catching up” seems like a bit of a stretch

@SC This is so close but I can't find something that works. I feel like "digit sum is congruent to 1 in mod 3 or 8" is a bit too much of a stretch, but it does work (and obviously I'd like to play that if it's fine).

Couldn't actually simulate it, but I plugged it into a binomial random variable calculator ("success" probability 0.4444444, N = 7, x = 7) and got that the chance of a hand having four specific first digits is 0.342%, but we multiply this by 9C4 (126) we get a 43.16% chance of this generating something. Combined with a 34.4% chance of getting something from last digits, there's a 61.5% chance that a sequence can be generated like this. Though this contradicts what Vincent said so I'm not entirely sure it's right.

One is valid, the concern is with the exponent being 1 (because otherwise you’d be able to say any number is a perfect power because itself to the first is itself).

Idk I’m still really confused about what the concept of that would look like. Would I be allowed to do things with other numbers in the sequence too (ie. with 58 already played, could I hypothetically play 45 because 58 - 45 = 13)?

Play 1, 6, 12 to complete Haversine's top sequence
and finally go full-circle from where we started this game

Wait I only played 3 cards, why did the number of cards left in the deck go from 48 to 41?

Vincent if you (have no duplicates, and) want to post your hand I’d be down to try and help you find a bingo, so that Sirius won’t be able to pick up seven numbers after the one he inevitably plays next turn

Yeah that’s what I meant. I thought I clarified it, but I ISO’d myself and I guess I didn’t...sorry.

Yeah, that’s true - if that’s what I meant then any number greater than 100 would have worked, as well as any number between 20-39, 50-59, 70-79, 90-99, and more.

He may also mean "start" as the least significant digit. Can't think of anything else, because 52 starts with a 5 otherwise.

By “start” do you mean most significant digit or least? Like would 237 be okay or would 732 be? And in the latter case presumably something like 70 would be fine too?

All of the ones digits are 0, 1, 4, or 5, but I’m trying to figure out how we use that.

“Ones digit is a perfect square or sum of perfect squares” captures those four possibilities and 9, which would be half of the digits and should be okay?
