Yeah I think my high range suffered from me restricting my voice because I was trying to be quiet. Hopefully with more time available there should be some time no-one's home so I can worry less about that. Hoping to impress with next round. Given that the range of music that falls into "rock" basically covers most of my music taste anyway I should be pretty free to do whatever this next round lmao

if u import the original song into audacity in the "effects" tab there's one that's p decent for vocal removal too so you can have just a backing but without it being weird or in the wrong key like karaoke versions

On your side here Malkon. viz was definitely out of line to give that response to you as you gave a very polite and understandable response, and you're doing great with this.

Could be a tad late since I'm a bit busy tonight. I've recorded it but am not entirely happy since I'm finding it difficult to not hold back bc of nerves of family hearing and questioning. I'll keep taking part to the best of my ability since I'm not so shy about showing to you guys, but don't be too shocked if I end up leaving due to missing a submission somewhere down the line.

For Broadway are we able to do musical theatre in general or does it specifically have to be Broadway stuff (like are west end or other musicals fine to choose from too)
And thank you for feedback! I definitely had some flats and need to breathe more and restrict my voice less
Congrats Mina for your victory and everyone else who made it through, and it's a shame to see NPOM leave

I probably could've given myself an extra take or two but I don't want to over-worry and end up making 30 takes because it would spiral from a few to that. Plus it's best not to put too much stress on my voice by singing for a long time. I'm sure what you've done has turned out great!

we'll see how i feel tomorrow as deadline approaches because it might begin to clear up but I'd be surprised if an extension would really help as it's just started and feels p bad. I'll let you know tomorrow.

oh thanks, i appreciate it!
be warned i've had infections last a week though and this round probably won't be a winner for me regardless. if i'm still feeling rly lousy rather than close-to-recovery by deadline-approach-time i'll probs default to dropping out anyway ngl

ugh i balanced my audio really poorly (backing track way too quiet even though it sounded a bit loud when i was editing??) but i'm happy enough with my singing and another take is probs too risky. ohwell.

it's a real shame to see anyone go damn wish it didn't have to be that way
i can't wait for a majority of entries for next round to be country roads tbh. i literally do not know any country songs besides that and achy breaky heart off the top of my head

In post 409, toolenduso wrote:So I started watching that Eurovision movie on Netflix because Khan said it was good, and that's when I realized that Eurovision contestants perform
original
songs and not covers like I thought. So I looked up the most famous Eurovision songs and I have heard exactly one of them, and I have heard that song like maybe once before in my entire life. Soooooooo assuming we have to do a Eurovision-themed round at some point, that is not gonna be easy.
best look ahead now so making your mind up is easier

i mean there's no shame. the more the merrier. i was going to try and actively recruit people to country roads until i realised i couldn't comfortably hit the highest note (and no other note! i can do the entire rest of the song! pure bollocks!)

i wanted to do falling out by ween since that's, like, the only non-super-mainstream country(?) song I know but it's another one I can't really comfortably do.

oh i've not posted since i was elimmed. sry i got so worried abt my weak control of tone-over-typed-words i was worried i wouldn't b able to sound gracious! i was def the weakest remaining (not that that's a self-insult bc everyone's been great from square 1) so right call, and ngl i don't really have any care for any country like i did my other performances so the lack of passion held my performance back on top of that. well done everyone else n keep smashing it

to be fair despite being british i've never really followed eurovision, mostly because we haven't got close to winning for like two decades. So I basically only know the Jedward entry, Making Your Mind Up, and the winner in 2018
