Yay to 87-93
Moratorium raises a good point. If we say no to everything this game will get pretty boring quick.
@Lowell: You have voted no to all these rules and promoted the repealing of the previous ones. Im interested in hearing what you would like the game to be like, and to hear a couple of proposals from you.
I'm hatching a set of rules which about a system of government. It will makes things unfair and interesting.Nobody knows-

P102 is there because I anticipated that people may not be prepared to bet. I also think that there need to be an inflow of money/points (call it what you want) so that one person doesn't take it all then have complete control.
P102 doesn't overrule the betting system. If two players play a game and they bet 50$$$ the loser will still lose 45$$$. I also added this rule so that poorer players may have a chance to come back from bankruptcy if they aren't in a position to bet.
Thirdly, I don't want games to be governed by chance. Shouldn't we be rewarding skill over chance?
Nay to P111, P112

Which third option?: Not voting? That isn't strictly a third option because a person may be absent and have an opinion on a proposal just no voted on it yet.yabbaguy wrote: EBWOP 532: Pluralities would exist because there is that third option, and therefore we can contrive a consensus based on all those who actually did bother to vote, instead of inactives dragging us down.
So when does one decide to count the plurality votes? When a certain percentile is reached? Explain.Nobody knows-

Indeed, if it wasn't a command to join then Blackberry wouldn't have posted in in the form of /in. And it's not as if all the rules expired a very short time after blackberry joined, giving him/her no chance to vote. The fines are justified.chenhsi wrote:
I think we took this to mean a /in.Blackberry wrote:I can still /in, right? O_oNobody knows-

It seems to me that having a rule which allows any player who has less than 1000 leave and come back in and replenish their money is unfair. I think we should fix this.
Also, since money has no actual value yet, maybe we should give it a value before building on it more. It seems futile to create rules which add or subtract money if there is no win condition (the only thing which has value in the game, really (?)) tied to said money.
It also seems futile to create another system of scoring.
It's obvious that either we should decide on a win condition somehow connected to money in any degree or scrap the money idea completely. I don't think we should scrap the money rules because it could (when fully formed) give a good idea of who is winning, losing etc. Although in a Nomic game it isn't necessary to have a winner or loser, I believe we should have some kind of purpose which drives us, just to make the game interesting.
Idea.Nobody knows-

in 137:
what soes it mean by "each square is worth 300$$$"? Does it mean it can be sold to the mod/bank for 300$$$?
Also I don't understand the mechanism of adding the value with links. The example seems to contradict what the rest of the rule says. If you have a square and buy one next to it, both become worth 400$$$ and then if you buy another one the value goes up another 100$$$ to 500$$$, not 700$$$.
I'd like to vote yes for p138 but I don't want to be lenient an all the thouroughly annoying players who have joined, got bored, and now we have trouble getting proposals voted due to them not voting ever. Maybe.Nobody knows-

Looking for a player to exchange 100$$$ with.
Essentially, due to an oversight of me I guess it's up to the mod to decide if one can keep his 100$$$ and give it away at any time or if it dissolves after those three day.
I'm ok with it being open yabba, propose a rule or something.
And yes I did mean for the robbers in P140 to be secret. If they are and there is a way to hinder them (policeman of p141, it will be interesting to see how the non-robbers deal with it.Nobody knows-

These side-game rules are too chance based for my tastes. Although interesting, no.
Nay to P168, P171, P172, P173, P177, P178, P179
Yay to P167, P169, P170, P174, P175
P171 can be simplified by just awarding money to Proposers. When somebody reaches 4 green influence then nobody will vote for any of his proposal, no matter how good. Well, yeah.Nobody knows-
