We are going to play the Overused Tier Banlist and the normal metagame clauses. You can find the rules here.

This is still open to join as of 9:30pm PST 1/13/2013. Once we have an even number I'll forge up some groups, You'll play each member in your group and we'll cut to a single elimination tournament style for the top 4/6/8 depending on number of people.

There's this program called Pokemon Online that lets you configure damn near everything about a Pokemon. Most servers also had a Mafia "plugin" that I used my first time ever playing Mafia.

Can't remember that the URL was though.

I was just gonna run it on Pokemon Showdown

I would personally prefer to play a one of the tiered metagames and not create our own. Banning legendaries is not that great because Drilbur/Blaskien would be legal and Azelf/Uxie/Mespirit would be banned, which is very strange/odd/bad. So although it seems like it would create a less competitive, more fun environment, it would probably alienate people more than just playing a tier list. I'm not a big fan of OU because I don't really like permaweather and I'm rather new and I find that there's so many options. I mostly play UU and RU. But I'll play whatever you guys would like to play tier wise. Ubers would be the easiest but those games are FAST and everything is STRONG. I essentially feel the same about Ubers as I do creating our own metagame, except in the instance of Ubers it's more obvious that people are going to be coming at you with things that feel unfair. Please let me know what kind of metagame you guys would like to play.

In short, my preference UU > RU > NU > OU > Ubers

Also if we have to use Pokemon Online, I'd be okay with it, but I wasn't gonna have poeple download a program for just this one tournament/league thread

kdowns, If you want to "ban legendaries", I'd rather just play OU, because it only bans things that have been deemed far too powerful by people that are much much better than any of us. Besides, It is making certain non-legandaries/team comps that are already strong and giving them more weapons and removing some very good checks for them(Tyranitar specifically). OU still gives a whole bunch of powerful options and lets you use the fair and even underpowered legendaries and more experianced players the ability to create kinda unfair strats based on an odd banlist.

If we played OU, this would be the list of banned pokemon: http://www.smogon.com/bw/tiers/uber. I'll move the banlist to the opening post if that's what people end up deciding on.

The tournament format will probably be 2 groups of 6 with the top 2 of each group going into a top 4 tournament 1st in A against 2nd of B and 2nd in A against 1st in B

I really want to play, but my family gets really dickish when they're internet is slow as hell when something is downloading.

I really don't think the download is that long/internet intensive, is there a way you can download it when the family isn't around?

Only pokemon you can't use are those that are listed in Ubers. Banned pokemon, abilities, and moves are all in the link posted in the title post.

Everyone should start building their teams, I'm going to post groups once a figure out who all is exactly playing and I would like games to start happening once I post them.

Garchomp is legal. If it's not listed in Smogon's Uber Tier section linked from that banlist. it is a legal pokemon.

I beat Blastoid 5-0 and 2-0. second game was closer then i expected it to be.
