Mental Magic is a variant of the game Magic: The Gathering that allows players to play the cards in their hand (and so on) as though they were any Magic card with the same casting cost.
For example, you could play Grizzly Bears (cost 1G) as Naturalize, Rampant Growth or Utopia Tree; you could not play it as Elvish Warrior (GG), Millstone (2) or Counterspell (UU) because the casting cost is different.
Once a card has been named, no one may use that card name again. Alternative uses of a card (such as madness, splice and alternate casting costs such as that of Force of Will) are allowed in the normal way.
You may play any card 'face-down' as a "Utopia" land. These are considered basic lands, but tap for any color of mana. They are not snow-covered.
Cards with no casting cost may be played as lands or used as cards with no casting cost such as Evermind or Ancestral Visions, but not as Utopias.
Since there is no library in this variant per se, you are not able to search for cards using abilities such as that of Demonic Tutor. When you would normally draw cards, you will instead receive cards (or rather, their casting costs) by PM from me. Similarly, cards such as Long-term Plans or Battle of Wits would be pointless.
