Rebus puzzles (also known as Frame Games, Word Picture Puzzles, Visual Word Puzzles, or Pictogram Puzzles) are puzzles where a small picture with words/pictures are combined to form a common phrase or idiom.
Here's an easy example:
Answer:
Head over heels
Scoreboard
Lord Mhork 24
Mitillos 18
xtopherusD 17
Telo 14
saulres 13
RichardGHP 12
SleepyKrew 12
bubbajack8 9
RedCoyote 9
Framm 18 8
Kalimar 6
Cheery Dog 6
TierShift 4
KageLord 3
oriole 3
Lincolm 3
Save The Dragons 3
diginova 2
Kazekirimaru 2
D3f3nd3r 2
CuddlyCaucasian 2
animorpherv1 2
Who 2
The Bulge 2
Marquis 1
Mac 1
TMTOLBTWNTOF 1
Xalxe 1
Redelphic 1
Espeonrage 1
Faraday 1
Rhinox 1
serrapaladin 1
vonflare 1
xofelf 1
Mist7676 1
This is intended to be an ongoing game that anyone can play at any time.
I will come up with the first puzzle. The person that correctly guesses it is allowed to then post their own (or pass and anyone else may post one).
If you want to pass, just make it clear in the thread. If no one volunteers after 24 hours, I will eventually create a new one by default.
Bolding
your answer is appreciated, but it isn't required.
You can create your own puzzles and upload the images to a website like imgur , Photobucket , Picasion (good for making .gifs), or ImageShack to share, or you can use puzzles you find off the Internet. Using just forum text is fine as well.
If you create your own puzzles, try not to use dimensions larger than 500x500 or so. You really shouldn't need to make them very big.
If no one guesses your puzzle after 72 hours, please upload a new puzzle or start giving clues.
The puzzle creator has the final say on who gets an answer right.
I will keep tally of correct answers and score one point per correct answer.

Growing up, I loved doing these things. I remember one time in elementary school a teacher assigned us a sheet with 25 and encouraged everyone to help each other and get family members involved.
Quite possibly the only homework assignment I enjoyed in my entire life, lol.
I saw a lame television show on SyFy the other day that was using them and it inspired me to make a thread about it!

One more post and I've really got to go (been spending too much time on MS lately).
Going to make a rule that says if someone doesn't want to do a puzzle and no one offers to do one for the player that got the answer right, I'll be the default creator. But if such a scenario happens, anyone can chime in and ask to do one in the thread, just that the winner gets to assign (that way it doesn't descend into chaos of multiple people making puzzles and getting in fights and killing each other and causing diplomatic strain between their nationalities/territories and escalating into thermonuclear war and the human race going extinct).
In case that was unclear:
John: Jill got it right!
Jill: I don't want to do one.
...several hours pass...
RC: Here's the next puzzle.
OR
John: Jill got it right!
Jill: I don't want to do one.
Jeff: I'll do one.
Jane: I can do one too, Jill.
Jill: Go ahead, Jeff.
Jeff: Here's the next puzzle.

In post 40 , Telo wrote: wanna try to solve it as a team? Toss out ideas and stuff? I don't care about points.
My friends and I were trying this earlier and didn't get very far but two theories were:
1. it's an obtuse angle. Someone thought that might be a clue but we couldn't figure out what.
2. Another person for some reason thought it might have something to do with sports but I can't understand why and he's gone so I can't ask him.
Now that we have the N that brings to mind a compass, but still thinking about it.
It wouldn't be

In post 94 , Telo wrote: if you win a round and then pass on making a puzzle you have more opportunities to solve puzzles than do the people who are alternating between making them and solving them so I think there should be some sort of incentive to make the puzzles.
I considered this, but I think most of us are just doing it for fun here. Additionally, if someone wants the "most chances" for winning, I will make as many puzzles as necessary by default. So if no one has any ideas or wants to do one after 24 hours of inactivity, I'll throw one up there. I don't find them very difficult to create at all, and I certainly don't mind.

I wouldn't have called that close enough! I didn't even think of that. I was referring to, like, a single person (as opposed to a married person, divorced person, etc). Lol.
But, you're the judge of your own puzzles.

Eh? KL guessed "Book Up" (which he says means to study, lol, I've never heard of it either), and I guessed "Book End". That means like those things you put on bookshelves to keep them from falling over.

I keep wanting to say seedy something. I can't think of any turn of phrase or idiom with seedy in it though.
Also keep thinking about the "i before e" rhyme, but I think that's a dead end.
