I've never played it that way so I'm going with no unless there's an official statement saying otherwise.

I've always played it that way becase it was my understanding of the rules but I honestly have no idea about the offical errata on it. I just have always followed the "new symbol ends your turn" rule.

I'm not bitching, I was issuing you what people all a "Conditional clause".

I.E: "If you do X, I will do Y".

In this case, it was "If you take the items from the vault, I will steal your best item."

It was meant to discourage you from going to the vault, you didn't listen and that's your prerogative.

But it's my prerogative to follow through on my conditional.

And if you think it's unfair for me to want to have all the shiny things to myself, you need to understand that this is a game with a guaranteed traitor, and so I have two objectives:

1) If I am the traitor, be as strong as possible and make everyone else as weak as possible.

2) if I am not the traitor, be as strong as possible and make the traitor as weak as possible.

In both cases, you getting items may not affect my win condition, but me getting items does!

More of a curiosity thing, but are there multiple traitor at start haunts? I know there's ones that gain more as it passes, but do some start with more than one ever?

No, all haunts have 0-1 Traitors to begin, whether they are secret or not.

As you mentioned certain haunts can cause multiple players to become traitors, but there's only every 0-1 main traitors caused by haunt reveal.

If memory serves correctly, the person who triggered the haunt has a tendency of being the traitor. I'm hyper paranoid to explore at this point.

Memory tells me ~40% of haunts are "Haunt Revealer".

Another 50% are "Highest in X stat"

And then the remainder are like specific characters or "no traitor" or hidden traitor or some other nonsense.

Not true! All those haunts are revealed when that specific omen is drawn.... which would make the holder of that omen the Haunt Revealer.

So for ease, in the traitor's tome, they always put those as "Haunt Revealer"

I'll be honest I don't see you winning this game. There is an off chance, given what I know about this scenario and the tools at your disposal but it's less than 1% to be sure.

Like, the thing is Xalxe put a lot of work into this game.

So on one hand, I think players should always be allowed to concede if they no longer want to play a game out.

Similarly, I also think that given all the work Xalxe is putting in, you should take that into consideration.

It's up to you dude, no one is gonna make you play out a losing game, I don't think.

Uh I'd say definitely more than 1%, dice are finicky creatures and turning one/two people into vamps would swing the game pretty hard

Do remember that monsters move differently than explorers and that they get to do things that we can't, like climbing up the coal chute.
