Welcome to Investments! The now 6th game of this to run. I will be running this game with a few changes to previous iterations.

The premise of the game is simple, you are an investor given some virtual dollars and use those dollars to buy virtual stocks which fluctuate about once a day in an attempt to make as much money as possible. In addition to that you can participate in various exciting events from time to time. I will be in charge of the government, the businesses that are selling stocks.

To join just start buying investments, you have $1000. If you have played a previous version of this you will start with $1200 instead.

New Things:

This version introduces a new form investments: Bonds.

Bonds are a new form investments that are a sort of way for investors to mitigate risk as they offer you a stated rate of return on the amount you put into the bonds. Every two days a normal bond will pay its interest out, unless stated otherwise. Bonds are not guaranteed investments just like Stocks, if the company goes under their is a chance you will not redeem the full value of the bond. You cannot sell the bond back to the company you purchased it from either, you must sell it to other players. Bonds with higher stated returns than the market rate are considered more risky.

How To Play:

To Purchase stocks/bonds you must have the available cash to purchase them at the current market price and for the stock to have enough available to sell. Simply bold in here or PM me (subject pref related to Investments) what stocks/bonds you want.

Movie producers have arrived at a conference to announce a new movie production they want to get started that they need funding for. They are asking for a total of $2000 dollars to fund their little pet project. Those who invest will have a financial interest and be able to have some control over the final product. For low price of $20 you can have a 1% stake in this opportunity. (Please put in money in intervals of 20 so it is easy for me to track how much interest you have in this)

A little about the movie pitch: The movie is about a post apocalyptic world where humans have lost a critical element that they need to survive.

Now that funding was provided to the recent start up Rune company. They need to make some decisions overall on the direction this movie is going to go. The three decisions that they are going to need input on are going to be: Director, Lead Actor, and Advertising Budget. These are all big decisions and they can't make it alone and they all cost money.

So the choices for director that showed interest:

Christopher Nolan-

Vision: His vision for this movie is to make it bigger and more thought provoking than other movies in its genre. He wants to let audiences think of the big questions.

Vision: He sees this movie for what he believes audiences want to see. A high action high paced movie with a lot fun characters and beautiful cinematography.

Vision: He was very vague about what he wanted this movie to be. He was kind of letting on that there would be some kind of twist at some point in the movie but it didn't exactly make sense.

Rune Company News:

With the advertising budget focused on getting everyone possible to see the movie, the people who went out to see it were a bit disappointed by the movie. Reviewers and critics alike slammed the movie for false advertising and Brad Pitt for being in another generic end of world movie. Christopher Nolan enacted his vision for the movie, but was overall disappointed in the performance of Brad Pitt.

Rotten Tomatoes rated the movie a 56% by Critics and 66% by Audiences.

Opening Weekend saw huge amounts of viewers, grossing a total of $6,400 at the box office.
The following weeks saw a huge drop in attendance.
