Yeah, really annoyed I didn't have a fair bid. Three spades should be makeable depending. They'd be your spades, so my dummy; just depends if the clubs get exploited before we can dump the club losers on the diamonds. And how it goes down exactly. Which, since Mitillos wouldn't underlead his ace, I think we lose two clubs, one spade? So four spades.

Yeah, you had a strong 16-point hand, but with a weak spades and only four cards it would have been hard to overbid there.

This is the first game where I've really seen the value of a preemptive bid.

Yeah, I have never seen the multi opening do its work as good as it did here. It was definitely four spades for the opponents.

Partner, there was no way to avoid one down. There was a safer play to secure one down (I think?, stripping yourself of all but clubs and hearts and give a trick to opps?), but you got there. No need for excuses, be proud!
