Grams are stupid, use cups and tablespoons like real men.One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.- DrippingGoofball

How many rods in an "arm's length"? How many hog's heads in a "chair leg"? Be precise! The glory of the imperial system is the range of measurements allowed to you, so make use of it!One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. Okay, much more helpful, though chair leg is not a standardized measurement. 3/10- mykonian

So just to follow up on this, I cooked tofu for the first time last week. It was delicious! I made this recipe which I highly recommend. My husband said "I feel like we have been left out of the secret tofu club and we didn't know what we were missing". He was equally impressed by the taste and the low price!-------------------------------------

Sea bass stir-fry
Panicked a little bit when this theme came up - my go-to one-pot dish is what I already used for the signature-dish theme - but I'm glad! It got me to try something that I haven't before, namely the frying of fish. Not complicated overall but, if nothing else, I've learned something from this contest.

Polyhaus' Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup
Ingredients:
Spoiler: Picture!
- Stir-fry beef (or you can get a flank or skirt steak and cut it yourself)
- Vegetable Oil
- Bok Choy
- Beef Broth
- Chicken Broth
- Water
- Rice Noodles
- Mushrooms
- Salt
- Pepper
- Basil (fresh, if you can)
- Garlic Powder
- Bean Sprouts
Instructions:
- Cut your steak into bite-sized pieces.
Spoiler:
- Heat oil in your pot over medium-high heat. Cook the beef until mostly browned. (Leave some pink, as the beef will cook more later.)
Spoiler:
- Using only the leaves, cut the bok choy into strips. You can use the stems in a different recipe as a less-shitty version of celery!
Spoiler:
- Remove the beef from the pot, but leave as much liquid as you can in the pot. Wilt the bok choy for about a minute in the beef juices.
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
- Add beef broth, chicken broth, and water to the pot. Use 1 part chicken, 1 part beef, 2 parts water. Also, add salt, pepper, and garlic powder. If you're using dried basil, add it at this point as well.
Spoiler:
- Once the liquid is boiling, add your rice noodles.
Spoiler:
- Cut your mushrooms into bite-size chunks. Add them to the pot.
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
- Once the noodles are almost al dente, add the beef into the broth.
Spoiler:
- Once the beef is cooked through and noodles are done, dole out servings.
Spoiler:
- Garnish with bean sprouts and fresh basil, if you're using fresh herbs. Enjoy!
Spoiler:
We didn't use as much water as we should have, so our broth reduced a lot more than intended. It ended up less like soup and more like a weird lo mein, but it was still delicious! We're also not sure if this technically counts as pho or not, so we're not gonna call it pho, haha.Current Avatar: Kronk. Duh.- DrippingGoofball
