In this game, your goal is to get a valid poker hand (one pair, or better), by bidding on available hands. The players who manage to build the strongest hands will win. Furthermore, you can offer any spare cards you have for bidding, to make more money.
- At the start of the game, a number of 5- and 6-card hands will be revealed, and become available for bidding. The first bidding phase will continue, until all hands are bought. At that point, the first change phase will begin.
- A change phase will last for 24 hours. During this time, each player will send me a PM with any cards they wish to discard that round. These discarded cards will form lots, to be used in the bidding phase, which will begin after the change phase is over. Each lot will consist of all the cards discarded by one player.
- During a bidding phase, all lots will be announced, and become available for bidding, for 48 hours. After this time, the next change phase will begin. If no cards were discarded, the bidding phase will be skipped, and the next change phase will begin immediately.
- The game will last for 5 change and bid phases, after which each player's hand will be evaluated.
- The players with the three strongest hands will be the first, second, and third winners, whereas any players who fail to create a valid poker hand of one pair or better, will be unranked players. A valid poker hand requires at least 5 cards, and if a player has more than 5 cards, the best hand they can make will be the one they are deemed to have.
- The unranked player with the lowest number of tokens (see Funds, below) at the end of the game will be eliminated. In the case of a tie, the player with the least money in their overall account will be eliminated. The amount in their account will be recorded as their score, and if positive, will be distributed to the other players.
- Private communication is allowed at all times.
The possible hands, in decreasing order of strength, are as follows:
Ties are broken with high card rules. Subsequent ties will be broken by high card suit, with Spades > Hearts > Diamonds > Clubs.
- In each bidding phase, every player is allowed to make any bids they wish on any available lots. The only exception is that a player may not bid on their own discarded lot.
- To make a bid, a player must send me a PM stating which lots they wish to bid on, and how much they want to bid on each. Additionally, bids can be changed, or even removed by the bidder, as long as this happens before the deadline.
- For each lot, the highest bidder will win the lot, and
- If two or more players bid the same highest amount, the one who sent in the bid first is the highest bidder, and the second one is the second highest bidder.
-The amount paid will be given to the player whose cards were purchased. In the initial bidding phase, the money goes to the Liar Game Tournament Office, instead.
- If a player is unable to pay the amount they bid, their bid will be ignored from the calculations.
- If nobody bids on a lot by the end of the bidding phase, the lot will return to the player who discarded it.
- If any hands are not purchased in the initial bidding phase, additional bidding phases will be held, until they are all purchased.
- Lots and bids will be evaluated sequentially, at the end of each bidding phase. The order will be the same as the order in which cards were discarded in the previous change phase.
- Each player receives 300 tokens at the beginning of the game. These will be used for all bidding in the game.
- At the end of the game, each unranked player will pay 100 tokens to the first winner, 40 tokens to the second winner, and 10 tokens to the third winner. This is the only time when a player's token count can become negative.
- If there aren't enough ranked players, the first winner takes any amounts otherwise not allocated. Thus, if there are only two winners, they get 110 and 40 token respectively from each unranked player, whereas if there is only one winner, he receives all 150 tokens per unranked player.
- Afterwards, each token will be exchanged for $1000. Negative tokens will correspond to losses of the same amount.
- Each player will also pay $100,000 as participation fee.
