We asked 100 mothers-in-law:
How many of 100 mothers-in-law said they've dropped in on their daughter-in-law uninvited?
- I will start the match with a survey question to the red player and ask how many people out of 100 responded to it in a certain way. The blue player will then respond with whether they think the actual answer is higher or lower than that. If the blue player is right, they will take control of the cards; otherwise, the red player will. (If the red player guessed the exact number, they get $2,500 on the spot.)
- The winner of the survey question will be asked if he wants to play his base card or change it. After a decision is made, I will then ask if the next card is higher or lower than the base card. If the player guesses correctly, he has the option to play that card or freeze it and make it the new base card. If you make it to the end of your row, you win the game and $500. However, if at any time an incorrect guess is made (the same value card counts as an incorrect guess), all cards after the base card that are flipped are lost and the opponent gets a turn. The loser of the survey question cannot change his base card.
- After a player freezes or both players have had a chance to play their cards, whichever happens first, a new survey question is asked starting with the opponent of the player last asked a question. The fourth question of the first two games and the third question of the third game are sudden death questions, meaning the winner decides whether to play or pass and that an incorrect call results in immediate loss of game and $500 to the opponents.
- The first player to win two games wins the match, plays the money cards round, and gets to choose whether to go on to The Bank Job or Tic Tac Dough in the semifinals.
- The bonus round is played much like the play of the cards in the main game, except that the player bets money. You will be given $1,000 in addition to what was already won to bet at will on the bottom row. Once you reach the end of that row or run out of money, the last flipped card will be moved to the middle row and another $1,000 will be awarded. Minimum bets are $50 until the last card, the Big Bet—there, you must risk at least half of your winnings. Doubles neither win nor lose money.
- Three cards will be pre-dealt along the left side of the board to help you out. If at any time you want to change your last card, just tell me which one of those three you want instead. You cannot change the same card more than once, but you can change them mid-row. You cannot change more than one card in the row.
