1000 Blank White Cards: Game 3
I've promised it for a long time, and now here it is: the third game of
1000 Blank White Cards
I mod along with Cheery Dog!This time, the rules aren't just a copy-paste, since a few have been added for the game to be more fair, or reworded for clarity's sake. I recommend re-reading them even if you have played in a previous game.
Basic rules:
- Each player starts the game with an initial hand of 5 cards from the deck.
- On each subsequent turn, you draw a card from the deck; you can then write a card and play one if you want (and if you can) When a card is played, its effects are activated.
- If it's impossible to draw from the deck, any attempt to draw creates a blank card.
- Each round will finish when everyone has played a card, or by default after 72 hours.
- The rules can be overwritten by the effects of played cards, except for bolded rules such as this one.
- If a card specifies so, it can have an effect while it's in a player's hand.
- Inactive players are kicked if they don't participate in the game for 2 consecutive turns, unless one of these turns was ended early.
- When a player leaves the game, their cards are shuffled with the draw pile.
About card creation:
- A card can be written from any blank card, and must contain a title and a rule; if possible, you should also add a picture and/or flavor text.
- It is forbidden to write a card whose effects are affected by real life.
- A player can't be forced to join the game through a card's actions.
- A card is not officially written until a copy of it is sent to me and/or Cheery Dog via PM, unless it's played immediately.
The pre-game:
- Any player who /ins before the game starts, as well as the mods, can submit a list of card he votes to send to the suckbox. When the game starts, if among the players who voted, a card is voted at least 30% of the time rounded up, the card is sent to the suckbox along with all of its copies, from which it can't join the game back.If one of the mods votes to suckbox a card, the voting threshold lowers to 15%; if both the mods vote to suckbox the same card, it doesn't require a vote.
- Before the game starts, anybody can PM once a mod 5 cards of his creation he'd like to add to the deck after the suckbox vote, even if they don't intend to participate in the game itself.
- Blanks cards are then added to the deck until they consitute half the deck.
Ending the game:
- A card's rule may include a win condition. To win the game, a player must fulfill a win condition from any cardvisible to all players, and keep it fulfilled until the end of the next turn. If he succeeds in doing so, he wins the game. This is the only way to win a game.
- There may be multiple winners to a game.
- At the end of the game, all the written cards in play are put back in the deck for the next game. This does not included cards that were somehow destroyed.
- Nothing can remain in play between games.
The deck will contain, in addition to pregame cards, all the cards that survived the last two games: you can go take a look at them in this topic, for inspiration, and just so you're aware that if your hand consists of just blank and Suckaaaa cards, it's perfectly normal.
