Fantasy Movie League

This is a nice little mix of a weekly fantasy sports league and predicting box office results.

You have a set $1000 budget for each week and have to create an 8 screen "theater" that takes in the most money for the weekend. You can show the same move as many times as your budget allows, get a $2M bonus for each time you are showing the best value, and lose $2M if you decide to leave a screen blank.

For example last week the best theatre was: Deadpool, Revenant (Shown 6 times, hit $2M bonus), Ride Along 2

Just a fun thing to play around with, even if you are not a movie buff. Deadline is always noon EST on Friday.

You don't need to know movies at all to play. I ended up just outside of top 100 last season after the "go for broke" move to get from about 80th to top 50 in the final week backfired massively, and I see about two or three movies a year tops.

Friday night numbers show Zootopia taking the best picture bonus for the week with filler of Risen right now with Revenant and EtE threatening to mess things up.

Best theater will likely come down to if EtE can catch Zootopia for best picture which would likely turn perfect score from Zoo + 7x Risen to Zoo + 7x EtE

You can join in other weeks for a week by week competition, just is harder to win a group missing a week.

And of course now EtE is now best picture and 7x of it with Zootopia is leading. Switched off that for 7x Risen because I though Zoo would take BP over EtE making a best performer between Rev, Risen and EtE the right move.

Week 2 is live. Should be a much more interesting week as Zoo holds as a very high price point, but I think it would need only a 30% drop to really be the play. The other question is does London fall less than 45%, which if it does I think makes it the play to anchor a lineup around. Right now I think im opening with 6x London and 2x Deadpool. I think its a bet of if Grimsby or London has the better weekend, unless you think Zoo or Cloverfield hit close to 55M and 30M respectively
