Nomination, Jury, Execution - PLAYTEST SIGNUPS 5/10+

Nomination, Jury, Execution - Playtest

Gameplay:

  1. Before the game officially begins, through public vote, 3 players immediately become members of the Jury, exchanging the ability to win the game for control over who gets eliminated.
    1. If 3 people are not chosen by deadline, I will choose at random.

  2. After the 3 Jury members have been chosen, the Nomination phase begins - each player will get two votes, which may not be used on the same person. The two players with the most votes will be up for execution by the Jury.
    1. If there is a tie that would make more than two people be nominated, a revote will occur between all involved.
      1. If the revote does not fix the tie, I will choose a player at random who is not already nominated or is still a part of the tie.

    2. Talking between members of the Jury and non-Jurors about the game is strictly prohibited.

  3. Jury members will get 24 hours to PM me which of the two nominated players they would like to execute.
    1. Once you have been eliminated, you are allowed one "bah" post. That is it. The eliminated player will join the jury in replace of a jury member voted out at the players' decision.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until 2 players remain.
  5. Once the game reaches two players, they have 24 hours to tell the jury why they should win. The jury then gets 24 hours to vote for a winner.

Rules:
  1. Don't be a dick to other players - this means no trolling, raging, flaming, and you must respect other players.
  2. Follow the rules of Mafiascum at all times.
  3. You may communicate with other players, but keep in mind 2b of Gameplay.
  4. I am not a god - if I have made a mistake, please let me know in private.
  5. New rules may be added if I deem them necessary.

THIS GAME HAS RECEIVED THE XOFELF SEAL OF PLAYTEST APPROVAL!

Please PM or Skype me while the game is going - I want to know your strategy and feedback! This is a playtest of the core concepts (and really the only bit that can truly screw over the gameplay), so I want to see how people are strategizing this game, and if they have any tips, or think there is a gamebreaking strategy here, etc. Give me all the feedback!

It does indeed have my stamp of approval. The more info you players give to Ani, the easier it will be for me to figure out if this is player and mod intensive enough to need to go through the queue or not later. So go all out guys!

The game seems to be entirely dependent on the will of the jury, or at least the majority of the jury. If two of the jury decides player Y will win, even from before the game starts, then player Y is winning, no matter what.

I think this would be fixed, or at least improved by having eliminated players join the jury. Having a locked 3 player jury be the end-all-and-be-all to who is eliminated and who wins in the end is a flaw.

But then there's no reason to be the first jurors.

I'll try a rotating jury - as players get voted off, they'll be on the jury and the player who was voted off first in the group will be removed from the jury. Rules will be updated when i get a chance.

Rather than having a revolving jury, have the living players vote a player off the jury. The jury then will always remain at three. If a juror needs replacing, just go back to the eliminated juror.

It'd be better to take the "which juror is getting removed" vote at the same time as the nomination vote, but not reveal it until after.
