Rooted Strike vs. Fool's at range 1. Does the Rooted Strike hit, since it has a minimum range of -1? I'm assuming no, but I think I checked the rulebook a while back and this situation wasn't accounted for.

It would not hit in that case. The rooted doesn't hurt there, but Fool's does. Fools would take the range down form 0 ~ 1 to -1 ~ 0, which is effectively 0. Against characters without Range Fool's can be pretty useful, against Lixis it's been less so for me thus far.

I was more saying that theoretically I could try to turn my back to you, so you'd be in a range of -1. Like I said, I didn't think it would, but it would be kind of amusing if it worked that way.

No, I'm pretty sure range needs to be positive as it works in both directions by default. It would potentially be amusing, but range doesn't work that way from everything I've read.
