This is a game similar to Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe that I've been throwing around for a while, and I wanted to see if anyone wanted to try it out. No idea how balanced it is, so let's have some fun.

RULES

This is a tactics game for 2 players, about thinking ahead. The game consists of 16 boards, arranged in a 4-by-4 square. Within each board are 16 playing cards, consisting of the Ace, 2, 3, and 4 of every suit, arranged in a random 4-by-4 square. To claim a board, you must claim 4 cards in a row on that board, either by a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line, or within the shape of a 2-by-2 square. The object of the game is to claim 4 boards in a row, under the same criteria.

The game begins with Player 1 picking any card on the table to claim. Player 2 must then select a card of either the same suit or the same number to claim. However, Player 2 may only select a card on a board corresponding to Player 1's card's position on its board. For example, if Player 1 claimed a card on the top right corner of a board, Player 2 may only claim a card on the very top right board. This cycle continues until one player has claimed 4 boards in a row, or has claimed a total of 8 boards.

Other Rules:
  • If a player sends the other player to a board that has already been claimed, that player gets to select any board to play from, but still must match suit or rank.
  • If a player sends the other player to an unclaimed board where it is impossible for that player to match suit or rank with the previous card selected, the player who sent them there claims that board, but the other player then gets to select any board to play from where he or she can match suit or rank.
  • Other situations that I haven't figured out what happens when they take place.

Whenever two people sign up, I'll start the first game!

What do you mean? And Realeo goes first, just pick the coordinates of the card you wish to claim!

If there's no winner, whoever won the most boards wins. If that's a tie, whoever won their last board the earliest wins.

I'll be marking realeo's squares as blue, and aronis's squares as orange on the spreadsheet. Aronis, you're up! Select either an Ace or a Spade from the top left board.
