Stage Fighter: Storyteller [Signups!!!]

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Sep 04, 2016 1:28 pm

Post by Tatsuya Kaname »

Alright, my final exams are approaching, so I'll put this up for signups and we'll start the game right after I finished my finals.

(Logo coming...)

PLAYERSTo sign up, form up a team of three players and add your team name to it. There're1. two ways to sign ups.
1.
"/in to waiting list"
By doing this, I'll add you to waiting list. If there're three people on waiting list, I'll PM three of you to ask if you want to make a team. If a team is sucessfully formed, they will be added to the queue and their names in waiting list will be removed
2. Form a team yourself!
The first player posts "/in with [PLAYER] and [PLAYER] as [TEAM NAME]" (Replace [PLAYER]s with teammates' names and [TEAM NAME] with your team name.) and the teammates post "/confirm team [TEAM NAME]".
After doing these steps, your team will be immediately added to the queue. YOU CAN USE PLAYERS IN WAITING LIST. If player(s) from waiting list is used in a team, their name(s) will be removed from waiting list.
(You can discuss in this thread to form a team until an "episode" begins.)

JUDGESHere are our judges.
The Entertainer - Aronis
The Queen - Xofelf
The King - CuddlyCaucasian
The Voice - StrangerCoug
(You may PM me a better title if you can think one)
We'll rotate one judge every episode (match).

This is the current judge table.
ARONISXOFELFCUDDLYCAUCASIAN
------

FORMATIn first round, the challenger team (or the second team to sign up if there's no champ) sends out one player to "enter" the stage and has to create a story and present it to the judges.
A story must be made from one of the 10 topics I'll give at the start of the first round. Each topic can only be used once each episode.
But here's a catch:
One story must have exactly 15 sentences
(bbcode formatting allowed). And when presenting,
one must post ONE SENTENCE AT A TIME
. After posting one sentence, the judges will judge your storyline by
"
+1
" "+0" or "
-1
"
your score (one's score can never go below zero). After all three judges have voted, the player may continue a sentence of the story until they finished their story.
When posting the first 10 sentences, the judges will declare the score publicly by posting their choice (+1 +0 or -1) on the thread. But for the last 5 sentences, a BLIND VOTE will be activated and the judges will instead PM me their choices.
After the challenger finished his story, the champion team decides on who will battle against that story. And he comes out to present a story of his, rules are the same.
At the end of each player's story, the judges will also comment on the player's story, but no more voting will happen.
After both players presented their story, I'll reveal the scores. Who has the most scores on
EACH
judge will receive 1 star from that judge. There are three judges so
one needs 2 to win
. The loser leaves the stage (is eliminated) and the winner stays on the stage to battle the next player. If there's a tie, we will count the total points from all three judges. If it's still a tie, then both players are eliminated.
On subsequent rounds, the team that lost a player last round will send out a new player to battle while
the winning player MUST stay and battle
. That means one must battle until they lost or they eliminated all of the opposing team. Same rules apply.
Game ends when one team has no players left. When this occurs, the other team is crowned champion. The champion receives $9,000 everytime they become a champ and
MUST DEFEND THE CROWN WITH ANY PLAYERS WHO ARE STILL IN THE GAME. But they can buy all of their teammates back to the game using that $9,000 they have won.
If the team can make 12 champs in a row, their winnings will go up to $250,000 and a brand new car. Also, the team retires as a legendary storytelling team.

So if you're writing 1 sentence at a time, do you wait until the judges rate the sentence you just wrote or do you just make 15 posts in succession and let the judges sort it out?

We'll wait first. (In this first episode, I'll use this rule and then I'll figure out if we should keep this format. The main thing of this game is to let the judges judge DURING the performance.)

I would also suggest perhaps a hybrid of both? Maybe 5 at a time? Ehh, let's just weigh on it and see what works.

Since I don't really know anyone here, I guess I'm in the waiting list. Put me up.
