The object of the game is to score the highest amount of points after 39 rolls of five dice.
- Each round, roll 5d6. You may score the dice immediately (see below), reroll them all or state that you're keeping some and reroll the remainder. On the first reroll, you have the same options with the dice, but after the second reroll you must score the dice. Once everyone has entered a score for a round, the next one begins right away—no need to wait for me to announce it.
- When scoring the dice, specify both the name of the combination and the multiplier. If you don't give a multiplier, it is assumed to be the lowest available for that combination. If you cannot score your dice in an available box, you must fill one with a zero.
- If you get a Yahtzee and all the Yahtzee boxes and all the appropriate boxes in the upper section are filled in, you may use it as a jokerto fill in any available lower section box and it will be scored as if it really was that combination. You cannot use the joker for an upper section box.
- To get the Yahtzee bonus for the second time you throw a Yahtzee, that Yahtzee and the first one you threw must both be scored in a Yahtzee box; likewise, to get the Yahtzee bonus for the third time you throw a Yahtzee, that Yahtzee and the first two you threw must all be scored in a Yahtzee box. To earn further bonuses, subsequent Yahtzees must be scored in this order based on availability: the appropriate upper section box, as a Joker, and any upper section box (though the box itself will get a zero).
