The Curse of Rata Mall - Basement

Image
Room Map

Present:

Groza529
is Johannes Berger: Male, Mid-Late 40s Tall, Skinny, South African accent, Dark Hair - Dressed in a suit and tie. Carrying Briefcase.
Porochaz
is Xavier Lynch: Male, Early 20s Short, bookish, well groomed, Red Puffer Jacket, skinny. Carrying a Baseball Bat and petrol cannister

Mod note One of you has a pipe, at the moment is Porochaz depending on whether Groza took it. (See my last post in eatery thread) Ill sort that out shortly

Description

There are two generators here, one is running one is not. They are on the south wall, raised up off the ground on a platform. You have to climb the stairs to get to them.

Running around the South and West walls is a pipe with 3 valves. It's unclear if they are on or off, or even important. They all appear rusted. There are a number of other pipes around the walls
There is a wooden cupboard on the north wall, and next to that are more pipes, and a lever.

The ceiling in here is cracked and damaged. There even appears to be blood on both the roof and floor. Something happened in here.

There is a switchboard next to the steps.

For anything else (if anything else) you will need to search the room carefully.

Room Deadline
(expired on 2020-09-07 08:00:00).

It says "Security Mirror". It allows you to see the entirety of the room at a glance.

Right so one of us has to turn the silver valve anti-clockwise with the wrench on the off machine.

The other has to press the red, then the blue and then the cyan buttons on the other machine.

We good?

"Well, first thing's first, let's put this down... apparently it was a challenge getting down the stairs with it."
Set pipe on the ground.
Glance around room searching for anything that has changed since I was last here
Open the cupboard and take the crescent wrench

"I will turn the silver valve. But first, two questions..."
"1) Are we able to speak freely in here? I know that you were able to see me from the cafe, though Lacey said she was not able to find such an apparatus."
"And 2) Are you in need of a mirror? I see you looking for shards. Will this help?"

Yeah that would be great if I could have it, thanks! I didn't see you take it.

Yeah, so in the freezer there were multiple hooks with random letters, I tried the pulling and twisting and manipulating them in all combinations, and the door appeared with the PIN and a screen with a microphone appeared (by the frozen vegetables) I was able to choose between 4 locations, one being the cafe which I was just in, the other being the toilet, that one up there, and a fourth, which I guess I could check now. The fashion store.

I tried typing in the number 8825 into the PIN (as it was the amount of change I found in the till, it was a long shot but meh. I don't know if Lacey said there was already one attempt on the PIN screen. I didn't try again as I wanted to gather more info before I went back. I kinda want to try the code Henry said in the Eatery.

You have a flashlight, don't you? Can you shine it round the hole, see what's up there?

"She did confirm there was already one attempt, but it sounds like it may have reset when Terry vanished."
Johannes thumbs the mirror. "I haven't yet found a use for this; it just seemed like a useful sort of thing to grab. If you need it, I suppose you can have it."
Give mirror to Xavier
"Incidentally, the reason you didn't see me take it is because it only broke off in the bank... a truck collision will do that I suppose."
Johannes gestures toward the camera. "So what I believe you said is that Lacey simply overlooked the camera, but that with people in the cafe this season, as we know there probably are, we should have no expectation of privacy. Is that correct? Safe for both of us then, I suppose."
"Anyway, let's get this thing going."
Turn silver valve anti-clockwise on the off generator.

"By the way, we should not have to deal with the rigmarole Lacey suggested about managing a gas leak while turning this on... If it were leaking, that strobe light," Johannes points toward the southwest ceiling, "Would warn us."

The machine is Cabled

The machine has Sufficient Petrol

Johannes stands by the OFF machine, and using the large wrench, twists the SILVER Valve in an anticlockwise direction

It turns easily
(Mod note - so long as Poro does the next step (in the right order) I am counting that as simultaneously)
