Please /in in the thread if you want to play.
We have room for a maximum of five players. We need a minimum of three to start the game; once we get to three, I'll start a 48-hour timer and begin the game when the timer expires (or when the game is full, whichever happens first.)

Watched a video and I think I'm caught up. Looking forward to it!
Watched a video and I think I'm caught up. Looking forward to it!
I'm not sure what changes may have occurred between editions of this game; I did find a game board implying the existence of a 2-player version (which my version does not support).
The only rule change I deliberately made is that used Sun Tiles are public knowledge in this game; in regular play, they are turned face-down (and thus private). I figure that since they start out 100% public, anyone who wanted to figure out what Suns someone had could just read the game's history and figure it out that way.
PEdit> That's three players! We've got room for two more still, but that means I'm starting the timer up. If this timer expires without the game being full, we'll start the game anyway.

That makes sense. I watched this video and (aside from the Sun tokens) I don't see any major differences between the video and this ruleset.

And that's time. We'll start with four, unless someone sneaks in a signup in between me writing this up and me submitting it.

Since this is a four player game, the first space on the Ra Track will be permanently filled (marked with a FULL tag instead of EMPTY or RA). This space does not count against the 30 Ra Tiles in the bag; it will remain filled throughout the entire game, including the resets between Epochs.
Now rolling to distribute the Sun Tile sets. The player with the highest roll gets the set with the 13; second highest gets the set with the 12; third highest the set with the 11; fourth highest the set with the 10.
The person who gets the highest roll will also go first during the First Epoch; turn order goes by player list order from there.
vincentw:
Original Roll String: 1d500
1 500-Sided Dice: (335) = 335
Sirius9121:
Original Roll String: 1d500
1 500-Sided Dice: (133) = 133
Nancy Drew 39:
Original Roll String: 1d500
1 500-Sided Dice: (186) = 186
Snakes:
Original Roll String: 1d500
1 500-Sided Dice: (314) = 314

(note: it's okay to draw without waiting for me to reveal a draw result - but be aware that if the person before you draws a Ra tile, your draw will be disregarded, as an Auction will have started.)
(it is also okay -
and strongly encouraged
- to take your turn without waiting for me if an Auction is already underway.)
vincentw draws a tile ... and as it's not a Ra tile, Sirius9121 immediately follows suit. The next two tiles are ...
178
Disaster
Drought
177
Pharaoh
The first Disaster hits the board. Fortunately for the players, the Drought is harmless to those who have no Floods or Rivers - and that currently describes everyone. We also get our first Pharaoh.

Nancy Drew 39 draws another tile. She draws ...
176
Ra
... the first Ra tile of the game, which means like it or not, it's auction time! The Ra tile goes to the Ra Track;
8 more Ra tiles until end of Epoch.
Auction
, drawn by
Nancy Drew 39
(involuntary)
Here's the bidding order. When it's your turn, you can either BID or PASS. Everyone gets one chance only. This auction was involuntary, so everyone is allowed to pass if they want.
If you BID, please specify which Sun Tile you are using.
The winner gets all four items on the Treasure Track; they also get the {1} Sun Tile in exchange for the Sun Tile they win the bid with. The {1} comes into play dead; it cannot be used during the 1st Epoch.
If everyone passes, the Treasure Track remains untouched. Either way, Snakes will go next after the auction.
