Even when I scroll down past the header image I can't see GD, this strikes me as a pretty good sign that we've got way too much clutter piled on these days.

Well you don't need Speakeasy or f62 access.

At the very minimum we should remove the F62 link, On Communication and the PSA from the headers. 62 has been dead for a year and half, On Communication can be summed up as follow the site rules and the PSA is about a single isolated incident seven months ago.

Yeah. We occasionally have to prune the lists. Unfortunately global announcements end up getting put in GD and Mafia forums whereas it'd be better if, for example, the on communication part were just mafia based.

As for F62 it's probably time to move it at the very least to the archives section.

i'm not suggesting we take it away from you. just move it to an archive folder rather than under GD.

Regular users don't have access to the archive, zoraster.

I decided to stop doing work for the site (outside of tweaks or maintenance on things I've already made), and I think all the other coders are more or less MIA. You might be able to get kison to make this eventually but it's unlikely to be a time sensitive fix.

Yes, Guest has access to the archives. Regular logged in users don't.

I never claimed it made sense. I'm just stating the facts.

I believe the access to the archive was removed to regular users when Kison reintegrated all that content into the main forum. Either me or kison overlooked removing Guest's access at that time. It is Guest who has the undesired feature, if anyone.

Yeah, and it's probably not worth bothering to adjust at this point.

At any rate, it looks like some space could be saved by moving and/or shrinking the "First unread post" icon. It's on a separate line for each announcement, and rather large compared to the other skins? Because I don't have a problem seeing things in mafBlack.

I don't have the authority to make changes like that.

The size of the unread post icon is what it is because that is Flay's mobile skin.

F62 should be an archive either in the actual archives or within Speakeasy
Open/Semiopen design challenge probably doesn't need to show up in GD and should probably just be a pinned post in MD
On Communication is a redundant post and I'm not sure why it's still there
PSA was Vi public shaming me 7 months ago and the post wasn't removed even after the mod team apologized and retracted their ban/action on me
Forum Rules & Guidelines is basically just repeating exactly what is said in the "Rules" link at the top of the forum, is it not?

Thank god there aren't any meets going on right now or this would be way worse

Every time I've wanted to take it down for the past month someone stops by and refers to it, or otherwise makes it relevant again.

I'll go ahead and take it down now and see what happens.

to be fair, removing the sticky doesn't remove the ability to refer to it.
