This may not help for now, ani, but for the future: in your PM tab, there is a subtab (?) on the left titled "Rules, folders & settings" -- you can make folders for (for example) games, people, subjects, etc.

Caveat: I have no idea what the max # of folders is; also, I have not yet set any rules, so I don't know how well it works|how hard it is|etc.

FYI.

As for searching your PMs: Cool idea. http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/pm_search/ says it can be done, but that mod looks a little flaky.

ani, go to your Sent folder, page-search (in your browser) on each page (I think each page has 100 or 150 PMs) for the Mod name.

Mr. Flay: Do you know how many Folders we are allowed for PMs? (I note that each folder, separately, holds 1,000 messages.)

Also, for anyone else, note that you can move both Received AND Sent PMs into other folders, so it is possible to maintain the thread of conversations (if you're OCD about that, like I am). I was very pleased when I realized this.

I'm pretty sure regular users are capped at 5 custom folders. Yes, that's 5-7000 PMs... don't abuse it, or mith will take it away. :P
