Post Timer Problems

Hi. This account works fine, but I am having problems with my main.

My main can edit posts but everytime I try to make a new post with it, I get the message that says I can't make another post so soon after my last. I've tried deleting all my cookies to no avail. Help!!!!!

Main is Ythill.

I'm Vi and I'm having the same problem. Although I thought TLJ was an xRx alt.

In addition to that, I appear to have been transplanted into the UK, because all times are showing as GMT+0 in spite of all my account settings being what I set them to be.

It would be great if mafiascum has finally transcended time and space, but it would be even better if I could post.

Is this part of the down time Mith was talking about?

Oh Jesus. Check out the "Down Time" sticky.

Apparently the board seems to have kicked itself back five hours somehow. If you were posting in that timeframe, it'll activate flood control.

Which means in five hours things should be back to normal?

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with Zorblag. I've got a theory as to why it's happening but no idea how to solve it.

The boards currently think that it's about 5 hours earlier than it is. They've come to this conclusion fairly recently. My guess is that any posts that were made on accounts during this repeating 5 hours will stop the accounts from which they were made from posting until the board's time catches up to where it was before. I'm guessing that because I suspect that it runs some sort of check to see if any posts for an account were made after some time when it's checking to see if it's too soon to check again.

I know that for the past while the board's time was running around 4 mintues behind actual time. That was consistently true for maybe a week (I wasn't paying too much attention once I figured out that the lag was there and that it didn't have any serious affect on play) up until some time yesterday evening when I want to say it re-synched correctly and I had to relog in when I wouldn't normally had to have.

In any case I'd guess that re-syncing the time will fix this but I don't know how that gets done or at what level it might be going wrong.

Either that or Mith decided our mains were too spammy and so put a five-hour delay on our posts.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue.

I just checked my board preferences and they were still set to Central Standard Time (USA). Weird stuff.

My theory is that some players would have posted at the exact time the board has reset itself to hence why they cant post?

Incognito noticed before I did, and sent a PM at what the records show to be 11:10 am EST. (Of course, the real time would be five hours ahead of that.) I'm not sure I was around at the exact moment when he sent it.

I noticed it starting at about 10:36 A.M. Eastern Time (the real time it started being 5 hours ahead of that). It coulda started earlier than that though.

Mafiascum could conceivably encounter it's future-self. The consequences of that could be disastrous.

I foresee two possibilities. One: coming face-to-face with itself 5 hours older would put it into shock, and it'd simply crash. Or, two: the encounter could create a time paradox, the result of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the interwebz and destroy the entire universe! Granted that's a worst case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own mafiascum.net.

Well, that's a relief.
