I know they are backwards, that the point. If they were forwards it would link to
www.x.yyy in a hyperlink that said, "Text"

Why do you even have the tag at all, though? You can just put the bare URL in if you are trying to advertise something... or disable automatic parsing of URLs.

Because I wanted to post text that links to specific in game posts. And it was always annoying seeing everybody else doing it while I didn't know how.
