Hi, this is snowflake247. I got the email about the
C
hildren's
O
nline
P
rivacy
P
rotection
A
ct (
COPPA
). The email did not, however, include the fax number or mailing address! This means that my account will not be activated unless someone provides the fax number so that my mother can sign it and fax it to the forum admins. Does anyone know the number that my mother can fax the form to?

Can you email mith@mafiascum.net? He will get your message faster that way than reading here, probably... I don't know the current fax number.

I never had to go through any of this when I created my account. What's the deal with all of this. IS it some new policy that I never knew about?

Did you put your age in when you joined? If you lied/left it blank, you don't get asked to comply with COPPA.

I did not put my age in. I think I had to push a button to say that I was over 13 (I was/still am), but other then that I didn't see anything.

COPPA is far from dead. The FTC has been happily levying fines since the law was enacted.

Also activating this account is probably a bad idea.
