Problem with staying logged in

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Thu May 16, 2002 4:12 am

Post by MiriYami »

I checked off the box that says that I want to stay logged in, but it doesn't work. I enabled all cookies to make sure that that wasn't the problem (I usually only allow cookies from the originating site), but it hasn't solved the problem. I very much dislike having to re-enter my username/password every few hours so that I can post as registered, but I want to make sure I post as registered.

I am using netscape 6.something on win2k.

Thanks!

Could be netscape. Also, when I first logged on and changed my password, and then came back, it made me log in again. I don't know if either of these is the problem. *~waits for Q :)~*

Okay, I didn't save my password when logging on with the temp one; only afterwards, with my proper password. I have also just discovered that I lose my login, window by window, in about half an hour or so. And I have never had a problem with netscape logging me in to *any* other location, and I have many accts, including hotmail and yahoo mail and brunchma and etc. I also didn't have a problem on the old board. Oh, I am using netscape 6.2.2; I will go check to see if there's a new version, but I doubt it (I only installed this one a couple weeks ago). I will NOT switch to IE; I hate it and do not have it installed anywhere on my system (I uninstalled every instance of it, and when installing windows, told it to not install that software). If a different browser will work better, I will consider it.

Thanks!

I have (had?) the same with IE 6, so it's not solely Netscape related..

I'm getting the same -> Netscape 6.1 AND Explorer 6, on Win2k.

Funny. Opera would regularly lose my login on the Ikonboard, as it usually does most other places (ie. Hotmail, Yahoo!), but it hasn't lost it on this board, yet. :?

Ok, should be fixed now. I played with the cookie settings a bit and it's working with the ancient build of mozilla redhat 7.2 ships with and whatever version of IE I have installed under Win4Lin.
