I used to have an account here a while ago but ti's gone and so is the email it had so I made a new account with this new email but it seems to be taking a long time to be accepted. Is this not allowed or do activation's usually take a while?

I normally only go through manual acceptances once every 3 days unless prompted to do so. Activated your account.
