As some of you may know, epicmafia has been attacked by a series of hackings. Nothing we haven't been able to handle, but then he decided to attack scumhunt (another mafia site that I doubt any of you have heard of except maybe one or two) got hacked by him and completely taken down.

Anyway, my point is, I was told via msn that he found a weekness on mafiascum and that on Thursday it will die. Just thought you'd guys would like to have some warning!

And he didnt take epicmafia down but let's see what he did instead.... Hacked admins account and multiple moderators, broke the lobby, got power to give every player moderator powers, changed the descriptions to the forum sections, and probably some other stuff I can't remember. He's currently saying he has the power to give players any amount of hearts/points and will prove it this friday.

our phpbb3 is pretty new, only like 2 minor releases behind the most updated platform. a whole army of whitehats routinely audits phpbb3 releases to test security and other crap. i haven't seen any big deal news about the latest releases fixing exploits.

some shitty mods can be broken or exploited, but this forum uses very few. there are also ways to give SQL tables a headache with registration, but special characters need to be enabled in usernames (they're not).

most forums get 'hacked' because their webserver/ftp is compromised.
