Option space with the system as it is is limited, so its not safe to say that all new features will be optional.

In extreme cases, yes. I'm not convinced Umbrage's is that bad, but I've only had to look at it for about 9 minutes so far.

Initially I thought it was just shaft.ed being his usual "I hate everything unique self", it is now annoying and distracting and distracts me from any post Im reading which is near a Umbrage avi.

Edit: This may be a case of the witches in Macbeth though.

I think there should be a blanket ban on animated avatars.

I think you can safely say that with shaft.ed its almost certainly to do with the fact the avi is obnoxious and not because Umbrage is.

It's cool, tasteful, and not obnoxious at all.

Umbrage's is kind of annoying though.

If it wasn't Umbrage, I doubt anybody would have said boo. I'm not convinced.

That said, Umbrage could slow down the animation a bit and I bet it would go over better.
