Scumchat Help

Sometimes, I feel really computer retarded.

I signed up for an AIM account, and downloaded Trillian. I am on Mac 10.7.4, Trillian 1.4.52

When I click on the links provided on the wiki and on the forum, Trillian opens but nothing happens. I have been trying this in Firefox v11.0, but my default browser is chrome.

How do I join this chat?

Right, but I use Trillian. I thought that in that topic, the solution was to install an earlier version of AIM--however, I only have an AOL account that I'm using on Trillian.

I'm understanding this correctly, right?

You can use AIM from any AOL account. But to access scumchat, my understanding is that you need an

older

version of AIM.

Trillian appears to be an option as well.

Anyone know what version of AIM for mac to use? I've tried 3 versions now. One was too new (apparently), and two just crashed. >.<

Trillian should work; there are folks in scumchat that use it.

Make sure you're using Exchange 4, not 5.

Okay, this is starting to really frustrate me.

I have trillium installed, my AIM account logged on (jinhal@hotmail.com). I've tried adding random people on MS and asking them for help, but either they aren't seeing my messages or are ignoring me. When I click the link, nothing happens.

Fuck macs they don't work with anything ffs.

Can someone who understands AIM on the mac add me? :3 Pretty please.

open) to see if it would work, but it still doesn't. I have Windows, I use Chrome. Is there a way to tell my browser or messaging client to open Trillian?

I've tried clicking the AIM icon thingy on Trillian and clicking "Join a chat...", but when I copy+paste the link, it can't find the chatroom. I always change it to exchange 4 (though, I have tried exchange 5 just in case). I've tried changing it from "aim:gochat?" to "trillian:gochat?".

Does anyone know a way of pulling it up with the link or manually?

Type in Scumchat and as long as its set to exchange 5, it should add you to the chat.

I dunno Trillian got weird a while ago, so i switched from it to pidgin, and it has worked just fine he entire time.

Yeah. I ended up just downloading Pidgin for scumchat. I don't like the layout, though, so I still just use Trillian for regular messaging.

I couldn't get Trillian to work either. Pidgin works pretty well, though.
