Preview Window [SOLVED]

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sat Dec 29, 2012 10:35 am

Post by d3x »

Since coming back to the site, my preview window is all jacked up. After a certain amount of lines typed, it starts jumping back up after each keystroke. This makes it rather difficult to see what I'm typing. Please halp!

Define "jumping back up", please.

Also, do you have any fancy keyboard or mouse bindings? I have some mouse bindings for my in-game mic that correspond with my browser back-button, which drives me absolutely insane sometimes. ;)

No bindings to speak of.

Each key stroke after the 'limit' scrolls the preview window back to the top.

What browser?

I occasionally get something similar, I think, if Firefox is misinterpreting my typing as automatic searching.

No idea, sorry. Still sounds like something browser-related.

Is the effect the same every time you hit the magic number? (if so, what's the number?)

If you can replicate it easily, try a different browser or computer, and see if it still does it.

I'll have to check and see how many lines it specifically takes. Iirc, both my laptop and Desktop computers have the issue. I haven't posted from my desktop in a while, though.

I just had the opportunity to check, it occurs right about 15 lines consistently. I'll eventually get around to trying a different browser. I'm just old and hate change... :)

...and are we really trolling in the Help! forum?

thx, zor. I'll have to give it a try.

If you have Vista or higher you can upgrade to IE9 and should. IE8 is a really really crappy browser, IE9 is actually decent.

If you have XP, then you should be using anything that isn't horribly outdated as IE8 or earlier.

I don't think XP will run ie9, so yeah your best bet is either Chrome (fast and lightweight) or Firefox (closer to IE in user interface). Either should let you import your old bookmarks, etc.

Updating my browser to IE9 worked like a charm. Thanks again all.
