problem with logging in and staying logged in

i don't know what's the problem, but i can't seem to log in since august. actually i could log in but it would automatically log me out after one second of logging in. i'm currently using chrome, not my preferable server, and i have been experiencing this problem on ie, firefox, safari and opera. is there a way to solve this problem?

Given that the issue is reportedly cross browser I doubt this fixes it, but can you try manually clearing your cookies related to MS?

I did, it didn't work. This happens both in my notebook, my PC and on my phone.

Hi its happening to me right now.

but its late and I am going to bed real soon.

observations.

I log in (type user name and password) they get accepted.
I get new screen. (This screen says Logout[AxleGreaser] in top right. AKA I am logged from boards point of view.

I get autoforwarded to Board index page when I get there I am logged out

HOWEVER

and this may be the diagnostic bit, if I am quick enough, and click the user control panel link BEFORE the autoforwarder act then I wind up in the user control panel logged in
From there I can manually navigate to Board Index page and I dont get logged out.
(so far that has worked this once)

Weird. But I would suggest looking in whatever the auto forward stuff/page specifically says/does.

I will try some geek/magic stuff.
Well OK I will smack my system with some, binary hammers, do some voodoo chicken administration of my box and see what happens.

Earlier when I was having difficulties state my computer entered was I deleted all my history forever
I just recreated that state, but nope now the problem is gone away.
The best idea I have is that earlier
I was logged in as me from one IP. (didnt log out)
Moved to different physical location and logged in from a different IP and had the problem.
(but really I am grasping, as I would expect I have done that before and not had the problem...)

Sorry cant be more help.
I will try and reliably recreate the problem, when I change back to the other physical location later tomorrow.

Ok its tommorow.
Did the swap back the other way. Logged in from 1 ip using a desktop. (exited laving the login on log me in each visit)
Got home then logged in from, from the laptop that failed repeatedly yesterday. No joy. Everything just worked fine.

So I cant reproduce my fault. Next week if I remember I will try and do exactly what failed yesterday.

I had problems like that when I'd log in on my phone. It would disconnect me on the computer, and vice-versa. Are you multi-devicing?

well multidevicing in that

On Sat, I was logged in from a

desktop

, and later logged in from a

laptop

and different IP(which failed), will also in between have browsed the forum not logged in from tablet.
Something odd is happening. and the only real clue I got is that after repeated failures it worked the time that I avoided the auto forward page change by clicking on link to user control panel. It may have been coincidence. And i cant yet purposefully get the fault back

AS the weeks go by I will try repeating the process, while swing the voodoo chicken clockwise and anti etc

It sounds like some sort of session issue, either the local cookie not being stored properly for some reason, or differences in browser/device metrics causing issues. But I've never personally run into the later.

I have this same problem, but only when I try to log in on my phone. I stay logged in for a while, but when I navigate the site I eventually log out.
