I tried searching for threads like this and I actually found duplicates but they where all 3+ years old. Maybe there is a newer thread but I can't find it.

Is it possible to use site chat while I am on my phone?

I think you need to request desktop site.

if you do that you can see it but not send messages unfortunately

I chat on mobile all the time now hip. I have no issues sending messages at all.

It's intentionally disabled on mobile because it can have goofy behavior, if you don't mind risking it, then requesting the desktop site should work.
