Dearest Mist;

Unless you would like to continue, or to see how various pieces react to various moves, I would like to resign.

Please let me know soonest.

Love,

NS

Invalid move, you must draw a picture of a sandwich to resign.

Okay, maybe not. The game is over, and White, played by Mist7676, wins! Good game to both players, and congratulations to Mist7676.

The move rules are...

  1. Pawn (aka Phalanx)
    1. Movement: Normal
    2. Capture: If the total number of pawns is an integer multiple of the total number of pieces of the type being captured, the pawn can capture the piece by moving one space in any direction. Otherwise, the pawn cannot capture except through en passant.
    3. Invoke: None

  2. Rook (aka Backup Dancer)
    1. Movement: Normal, except if the player has no Vacuums, in which case, moves like a normal chess queen.
    2. Capture: Normal
    3. Invoke: None

  3. Bishop (aka Apostle)
    1. Movement: Can move up to four spaces in any diagonal.
    2. Capture: Normal.
    3. Invoke: Any piece may be moved diagonally towards the invoking Apostle. However, the piece may not move away from the Apostle at any time, even if it would otherwise end up nearer to the Apostle than where it started. The invoked piece may capture the first piece it connects with, but can go no further than that. It may not jump pieces.

  4. Knight (aka Hopper)
    1. Movement: Can move in any direction, but must jump over at least one piece, and cannot move over any squares with no pieces in then.
    2. Capture: Normal.
    3. Invoke: None

  5. Queen (aka Vacuum)
    1. Movement: Normal
    2. Capture: Normal
    3. Invoke: Any one of the player's pieces is moved to the space last occupied by the invoking Vacuum.

  6. King (aka Craven)
    1. Movement: Can either move one space up, down, left, or right, or can swap positions with any piece in any direction, as long as there are no other pieces in the way.
    2. Capture: Normal.
    3. Invoke: None

And here is the Spectator topic!

I think it's copied and pasted from Phalanx's?

Now I'm trying to see if you could have won with the pieces you have left :P

Yeah, after reading the PT, it had to have been a c/p error.

I never would have figured out some of those, although I wish I'd thought through the name "Backup Dancer." I could've used another Queen. :P

I'm a little disappointed they didn't have any commentary as we played, though. I would've been cackling with evil delight watching the players struggle.

Yeah, that would have been fun to read. Hopefully if/when I do another, the spectators are more active.
