The Rules

• ONE: FUNDAMENTALS
  • All site-wide rules apply. Read and respect them.
    
  • There is no personal communication outside the forum postings (regarding this game) unless your role specifically allows it.
    
  • Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with the moderator, co-moderator, backup-moderator, or fellow players. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
    
  • Be courteous and respectful to all your fellow players and the moderating team.
    
  • Play to your Win Condition.
• TWO: DAY PHASE
  • Each Day Phase shall have a 10 day deadline.
    
  • Votes must be in the format of VOTE: PlayerName or
    Vote: PlayerName
    , or they shall not be counted. Abbreviating someone's name is acceptable, so long as I can discern who you were voting for without trouble. If I think it should count as a vote, it will.
    
  • Unvoting is not required, but is much appreciated by the Hectic.
    
  • Once you have reached a simple majority (half of all living players plus one) that person's fate is sealed and they shall be lynched. Unvoting cannot change their fate.
    
  • If half the living players approve a No Lynch (
    Vote: No Lynch
    ), then no player shall be lynched and the game shall enter Night Phase. If deadline is reached and no one has received a simple majority of the votes, no one shall be lynched.
    
  • Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I arrive and post a death scene. All players may continue to post during Twilight.
    
  • Please post at least once every 36 hours. If you fail to do so, you will be prodded. If you fail to respond to said prod within 36 hours, you will be replaced.
    
  • If you get three or more prods, or fail to respond to a prod by posting in thread within 36 hours (or by PM if at Night), I will begin seeking for a replacement (this means the third prod functions like a notice that you are racing the search for your replacement.)
    
  • A deadline extension may or may not be granted; just ask.
    
  • Votes and Unvotes shall not count in Twilight.
• THREE: NIGHT PHASE
  • The Night Phase shall last two days.
    
  • All groups with Private Topics (PTs) will be able to converse during the Night Phase.
    
  • Any role or faction with night abilities may choose to use them by PM-ing the mod with their choice.
    
  • If no action is received, no action will be taken. All actions received after the deadline has passed will not be valid.
    
  • Night Action submissions will be accepted starting in the Twilight Phase.
• FOUR: CAPITAL OFFENSES

Setup

During Day 1, players must vote to HEAL: a player. There is no lynch on the first day.
Once someone has been hammered, the mafia are given kill switches for every player in the game.

During Night 1, the mafia must gift a switch to each player in the game. For example, they can gift the kill switch that kills player A to player B, and so on.
If the

HEALED

player is town, that player may ask for a kill switch that targets any player they desire. They must submit their request in the first 24 hours of the night. This request must be fulfilled by the mafia.
At the end of the process, every player including the mafia should have a switch. There is no kill on Night 1.

On Day 2, players will be secretly informed of what switch they have received. They may activate the switch at any point during any day phase by posting "

ACTIVATE

" in all caps and bold in the thread. Activating a switch resets the votes.
Lynches and Nightkills occur as normal.
Mafia win when they have parity with the town.

After a short amount of time, a smartly dressed man rides in, finally making his entrance. He climbs off of his horse.

Tuxedo Mask looks down at the dirt stains blemishing his otherwise impeccable Tuxedo. He'd wash it if he could, but the Tuxedo is as part of him as he is as part of the Tuxedo. Taking it off would kill him; it's simply not an option.
He recalls back to the one responsible for this: The time votato saved him from narrowly falling into a ditch, only to throw him into a slightly wider ditch anyway. Tuxedo Mask sees red.

Rising abruptly from the table, Tuxedo Mask grabs a nearby plant pot and pours the dirt all over votato's majestic coat. There is disarray at the dinner table as the donkey-unicorn shakes it off and dirt flies everywhere.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the food can be salvaged.

You hear a beeping sound from Datisi's neck. He's wearing a collar you hadn't noticed before. The beeping increases in intensity and pitch and the collar starts glowing red.

Without warning, the collar

, blowing Datisi to smithereens. People dive for cover, others stand in shock and are drenched by blood.

You hear slow clapping from behind you. It's your host!

In the aftermath of Datisi's death, a heated debate breaks out between the party. Hooves are pointed, tuxedos are shrugged, and wings are flapped. Klick has an idea. They declare their allegiance to the mafia and threaten to activate their switch. They will slay the legendary dragon if anyone does anything stupid.
Kanna rises from her bench – which she has brought with her apparently.

The light...the light will put an end to this.

ACTIVATES

her switch. There's a loud sizzling sound as Klick's bright orange hair instantly

liquefies

into lava. They collapse in a heap on the floor as the putrid smell of burning flesh wafts through the room.

Feeling left out, Tuxedo Mask and votato also activate their switches. The bat zooms around the room, panicking, but... nothing happens. The switches seem to have been deactivated!

Well then, I suppose you've won. You've weeded out the spies in your group and done so in brutally efficient fashion. Take your payment and leave Comet.

He starts walking away and you hear him muttering.

6 survivors... how disappointing, the bloodshed was over before it barely begun.

Thank you so much, everyone! I'm very happy you all enjoyed the flavour so much, I had a lot of fun making it. This playerlist was incredible and I would love to see any of you join future games of mine. If anyone's interested.

This town was extremely disciplined and it made scum's job so much more difficult. When I initially designed the setup, I assumed there would be at least one lolactivation by town at some point during Day 2, but there really weren't any Not Mafias in this game. Then again, I think scum was one town disaster away from winning. votato, I'm interested to hear if you ever came close to activating Tuxedo's switch on the basis that Tuxedo was gunning for Morning to off you. If votato snap killed Tux, and Morning reacted by killing votato, scum would've been able to quickhammer.

my thoughts on the setup would be:
- start day 1 with 9 players and have a lynch (since the hush hush must reveal no info to scum is kinda boring, at least to me)
- have day 2+ have 48 hours deadlines, but a switch activation resets it

also no redactions in scum pt etc

These are great suggestions. This is probably how I'd run it if I ever did again, but there are new setups and ideas to try!
