Game Rules

General Rules/Game Etiquette

1. Obey all Site-wide Rules.
   
2. Communication outside the thread (if your role specifically allows it) is allowed until the game begins.
   
3. You may not quote private communication of any kind. This includes moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
   
4. There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it.

Activity/Prods/Replacements

1. Prods of missing players will be issued after 36 hours of no activity.
   
2. A prodded player has 24 hours to respond to the prod, after which time a replacement search will begin. The prodded player may re-enter the game so long as no replacement has been found.
   
3. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to possible replacement without further notice.
   
4. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than 36 hours please PM me or post in the thread to declare V/LA.
   
5. I reserve the right to force replace players who need extensively long V/LA at my own discretion.

Deadlines

1. Deadlines for this game will be 10 days for Day 1 and 7 days for following Day Phases. Night Phases will last 48 hours.
   
2. Extensions are given only in extreme circumstances.
   
3. If you have a role with a Night action your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions.

Player Actions/Voting/Player Death

1. A simple majority of all living players must agree on one person (via voting) for an Elimination to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down). If no one has a simple majority of votes at deadline a No Elimination will occur.
   
2. Votes must be bolded or use the [.vote] tags to be counted (e.g.
   Vote: Player
   or VOTE: Player).
   
3. Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes.
   
4. You may
   Vote: No Elimination
   - a simple majority of these vote types are required to send the game to Night phase without an Elimination.
   
5. Votes made using nicknames or abbreviations will be counted at my discretion. Fake vote gambits should be executed at your own peril. If I think its a vote, then its a vote.

Are the roles chosen from each randomly chosen game randomized or specifically chosen for balance?

The nine games represented in the setup have been randomly chosen. The role used from each of those setups have been specifically chosen to balance the setup as a whole.

Are the anti-town roles picked from each game aligned with each other automatically? For example if mafia are picked from 2 separate minis - would they then ally together or be two separate scum factions since the original role did not include a teammate from the other game?

If players with Mafia alignment were chosen from two separate games, they would combine to be one Mafia faction in this game.

Thanks for your patience while the game has been paused. I'm sorry that the delay was longer than originally intended, but I wanted time to give the thread a thorough review to make sure any moderator action I took was appropriate.

DkKoba and DonCorleone are being force replaced for breaking site rules against abusive behavior, personal attacks and toxicity.

I don't ever want to be in a position as a moderator where I dread reading my game because of how awful people are treating each other. Hopefully this is a step in that direction.

Micc, if you were to include a Vigilante role from Micro 941: Brass and Shrapnel, would you choose an individual player slot and then assign that player as either a True or Blank Vigilante depending on what the slot in that game was, or would you randomize it according to the normal generation procedure for Brass & Shrapnel? And, if you did assign it according to the game, would you then clarify to the player that they actually

I would consider the hidden information aspect of this role to be bastard enough that it would not have been used for the creation of my setup.

if there are two or more neighbors in the game picked up from different Micros, would they be put into the same "hood" ?

If I used two or more roles that are the equivalent to a Normal Neighbor, they would all share the same neighborhood.

Thank you everyone for playing, I hope you enjoyed the game. This was a challenging one to moderate. Sorry for the delay. Everything here should now be released except the Mafia PT. We're still in the process of working out fair compromise between not outing Raven's main and my moderation policy being pretty strictly against redactions. I hope to have it open in the next 12 hours.

To speak towards the setup - things were pretty rushed together as shown by the review thread. I'm not particularly proud of how much still needed to be pulled together at the time the game filled. My intention for the game was never really to be normal adjacent, but rather to embrace the wackiness inherent in how the setup is built. Based on postgame comments I'm not sure how well that was conveyed as a design philosophy during signups. Something I'll try to keep in mind for future games.

Designing a game around a wacky role such as Town Bomb is always going to produce swing, but I was willing to accept that based on the design philosophy used for this game. The interaction between the Mark for Death and Town Bomb was an interesting dynamic to watch. The scum team did very well to identify key aspects of the setup during Night 1, and eventually come up with Bodyguard Neighbor as a fakeclaim that worked so well in the setup that it carried them through the end game.

I mentioned in the mod thread that the game within a game between skitter and the worst was absolutely fascinating to watch. This game also came with plenty of things not so fun to watch. I'm going to remember this game for the former and not the latter. Thank you again to everyone who played or spectated. I look forward to crossing paths with you all for another game sometime down the road.
