In theory if you dayvigged every phase and a certain townie was your median read all game you would never be disadvantaged compared to having that person strongtown. But strongtown is harder to fairly reevaluate.

You assign players to complete a quest picking them such that any of them lied and have trained less than is being reported, the quest will fail. So N2 you pick a N1 quester and two N1 "trainers" to investigate the trainers

I kind of have regular scumgames and then I have scumgames where I popoff and my wim malfunctions and no more than one slot scumreads me all game and I don't feel an ounce of guilt cause I know in my heart I want it more than every other player in the game

Emily I have played with every person in this playerlist at least one time, except for you, depending if you're an alt. I suspect other players in the game have many pairwise records like that too. I've possibly played over ten games with Dunnstral, probably.
I assumed you were probably Hectic or Pooky or some other enfranchised player, maybe a Kanna who had just gotten a lot more free time, or Karin, Pooky, or beeboy.

It does feel like an intimate gathering of friends. Seeing the way other people approach a deep social game like mafia makes me feel connected to them, even the ones I don't know in any capacity outside of mafia. Sometimes especially those ones? They all feel incredibly familiar to me. Even if I have less total bits of information about them, all the interactions being reduced to text, the reliability and purity of everyone's signature is preserved in a sort of special way. No one ever has smeared makeup that ruins the way I envision them. No one's voice ever cracks to ruin a savvy quip in line with some facet of their personality.

The economist in me always feels like this site needs to grow and stuff, but the community's incredible retention rate makes it a greenhouse of vibrant friendships and relationships, shared memories and expected personality interactions. It's a place where in its own way I understand lots of people and yet am understood.

I feel really sappy today. My doctor said my dosage might have some emotional effects.

I suspect this game will be special to me no matter who wins it. I didn't read a single player's name besides Dunnstral who invited me, and yet it's nothing but familiar faces.

I think that is direct backwards as a method of reading Dunnstral in particular. He cares way more about how he is read as town. It's high risk high reward. We could also immediately win the game.

Big picture, we are going to decide as a group to kill X people over the course of the game and in between those the mafia will get to kill Y people. We get more control who the last couple people alive are when X is big and Y is small. If we take turns where we kill 2 people night one when the mafia kills one person night one we improve that ratio a lot more than by letting mafia get the first kill tonight while we get zero.

Taken to the extreme if we were too afraid of killing townies we would all just train and quest every night and never ready the guillotine while the mafia nightkills all the townies of the whole game and wins

This doesn't seem right. If one scum is assigned to dungeon and one is assigned to train, the scum assigned to train performs the kill, and the scum assigned to the dungeon does the quest. This is indistinguishable from one scum assigned to train doing a kill and one scum assigned to train actually training. We would go to 8p and know very little. Is there something I'm missing?

If you're town it costs more mental overhead to discuss the hypothetical the way you did as compared to using unnamed theoretical players you don't scumread for the purposes of your example.
