My Persivul read is a small part meta (because I know Persivul is capable of playing 10x better than this as town) but my Expedience read is not meta-based at all (my only experience with Expedience is when when he replaced into a doomed scum slot and failed to save it), so I feel better about that one.

@Creature: what's notable about Persivul's scumgame? In my only experience with him, he was town and was pretty universally townread by mid-day 1 when he replaced out. I'm not seeing a similarity here (though I admit that 1 game meta is super weak).

Here, we posted within seconds of each other saying that Panther already answered, and I said in our chat that that could be our mason tell. I thought we wouldn't need to crumb properly because I thought that Panther/House wouldn't cc (I thought House's 396 was a VT claim) and that we we more trustworthy than you/Persivul/Expedience, and we didn't want scum to see any crumbs.

I'm not a fan of analysis based on mechanically optimal play, and this game is a good example of why.

If I was to have made the "mechanically optimal scum play", I'd have killed Panther n1 instead of the Mason.

Mechanical optimality completely ignores the actual circumstances of the game.

Also, optimal town play is to predict optimal scum play, so there is value in subverting expected behavior.
