Game Rules

General Rules
1. The site-wide rules apply. Read them, know them, love them, do not break them.
2. Play to win.
3. Do not edit or delete your posts in this thread. If there is a problem with a post, such as incorrect formatting, ask me to fix it for you.
4. Do not quote communications outside the game thread, including role PMs, quicktopics, etc., in the game thread. This specifically includes PM timestamps. Paraphrasing is allowed. If in doubt, ask.
5. Do not use cryptography, invisible text, tiny text, or the like.
6. Do not use any form of provable randomness. Claiming you rolled dice and acting on that is fine. Using dice tags is not.
7. Do not impersonate or pretend to be the moderator. If I edit a post, I will use
this color
. Do not use this color.
8. Unless the moderator has specifically told you it is allowed, do not talk about this game outside of this game thread until it is completed.
9. Do not bring outside factors into this game. This includes, among other things, making bets, promises of real life rewards, etc.
10. Claiming scum by yourself is fine. Claiming scum with others is not, regardless of the truth of this claim.
11. Pretending to break a rule will be treated the same as breaking the rule.
12. We're all here to have fun. Tempers may flare, but avoid personal attacks and keep it civil.
13. Breaking one of these rules may, at my discretion, result in a modkill. If you are modkilled, you will become a Neutral Survivor, and thus automatically lose. Modkilling may or may not end the game day.
14. I reserve the right to change the rules. Rule changes will be posted in thread.
Activity Rules
1. If a player goes two days (48 real life hours) without posting, they may be prodded at my discretion, or upon being asked by another player. Prods will be announced in thread.
2. If a player does not respond to their prod within one day (24 real life hours) or is prodded three times in total within the game, they may be force-replaced at my discretion.
3. If you will be V/LA, please alert me in the thread or via PM.
4. Each game day will have a deadline of two weeks (14 real life days).
5. In the event deadline is reached before a lynch has occurred, there will be No Lynch.
6. Each night will have a deadline of two days (48 hours).
7. If a player has a night action, but does not submit a choice before deadline, they will perform no action.
8. I may extend deadlines in the event replacements must be found, at my discretion. This will be announced in thread.
Voting Rules
1. Votes must be at the beginning of a new line and bolded, and in the format of
VOTE: Player name
or VOTE: Playername. Abbreviations, missing punctuation, and misspellings will be accepted as long as it is obvious to me who is being voted for. If I perceive it as a vote, it counts as a vote.
2. Unvoting is nice, but is not necessary.
3. Once a majority of votes is reached (# of players / 2 + 1, rounded down), that person is lynched.
4. All living players, including the lynchee, may continue to post until I lock the thread.
5. If you are dead, that is it. Do not post. Not even a "Bah" post.
Setup Rules
1. At least 1 player will get the Vanilla Townie role PM, which could look like this:

These 3 town members were part of the opening scene where Rick and his colleagues chased bankrobbers:

On episode 1, both bankrobbers were successfully lynched! Unfortunately, Rick Grimes died in the process. But we also had another event that took place.
Amy(EspeciallyTheLies)
, who is part of a group of survivors, tried contacting possible survivors, without much success. Meanwhile, Rick Grimes woke up from the coma he ended up in, being shot by bankrobber Brent. He found himself in a world of Walking Dead. There he met a father, accompanied by his son:

Duane Jones(absinthe)
Morgan and his son were camped in Rick's old neighborhood. They refused to go along with Rick to Atlanta, because their zombified mother was still roaming the neighborhood, and they didn't want to leave her like that.
Jenny Jones(RadiantCowbells)
didn't manage to get her son Duane lynched. On the contrary, lynching Jenny is what gave the town their first win.
Spoiler: Episode 2
On Episode 2, we relived the following events:
Rick Grimes(CatDog)
Rick Grimes arrived in Atlanta, but had to run from a large group of Walking Dead. He had no choice but to hide in a tank, which apparently already had an inhabitant.
Tank Zombie Sam(Antihero)
Tank Zombie Sam was effectively put down by the town. Unfortunately, Rick Grimes also got killed in the process.
Then we had a group of Survivors who were visiting Atlanta for supplies. They spotted Rick and tried to save him.

Glenn Rhee(beeboy)
T-Dog(Papa Zito)
Morales(No Brainer)
These people tried to save Rick, but they encountered another Walker, trying to get to him...

Town successfully managed to take out Wayne Dunlap, but Glenn Rhee, T-dog and Morales would not live to celebrate.
Meanwhile, at the camp, right outside of Atlanta...
Lori Grimes(BlueBloodedToffee)
While not facing any dangers, Lori Grimes somehow got killed.
Another win for the town, making it 2-0. Who knows what will happen on Episode 3!

Town wasn't prepared for the attack, and everybody was killed! Ed's Walker and Amy's Walker both survived! The Zombie faction picks up their first win, making it 2 wins for Town, and 1 for the Zombies.
The group of survivors were mourning their losses after having been attacked by a horde of walkers.

Town successfully managed to kill their turned friends, and only lost Lori Grimes in the process. They did it fast enough so that even Jim, who had been bitten, was alive to see their victory.
Role PM's are out! Game will start when 8/9 players have confirmed.
Something_Smart is on V/LA until Tuesday, so keeping that into account.

Thanks for playing everyone! I hope you've had fun! I'm not really sure if I balanced this game right. So apologies if you feel that way. I will try and explain my thought process.
I thought the Framer was really powerful for Mafia, especially in a 9-player game, so I needed some hardcore stuff to counter it. After all, a cop guilty on a framed person could possibly lose the game on day 2. The framed person would get lynched, followed by the cop. So I decided to have both a cop and a rolecop. The rolecop could pretty much only discover the framer, and not the goon. The cop's results were very unsure. That's why I added the 1-shot bulletproof bodyguard, to try and save the day for town in case the first scenario happened.
I originally had designed the role of Andrea to be suicidal, which meant that at the moment Dale died(the bodyguard), and Jacqui(the goon) was alive, she would commit suicide. I didn't go through with it because that would have made the game very swingy. It also would have meant that Dale would be confirmed town in a way, so that was also bad.
I'm interested in hearing how you guys felt about it, I'm still not sure if I did a good job here. I might have given too little credit to WhiteLight though, because busting GuiltyLion on night 1 proved crucial. The moment shotty claimed Jenner, I knew he would die next, because the flavor name for mafia would gave it away.

That concludes Season 1. I only was able to produce 5 good mafia games out of 6 episodes, so there won't be a sixth on season 1.

The Walking Dead, Season 1 Finale
I will be designing a Large Theme game, which will include a "best of Season 1" cast. All characters who were a part of the first season have a possibility to be included in the game.
