The Rules:

1. All site rules apply.
2. Be nice. Mafia games can get heated but remember never to attack the person.
3. Play to your wincon.
4. Days are approximately 14 days long, nights are approximately 48 hours long. Extensions may be given the circumstances warrant it.
5. Failure to post at least once every 48 hours will result in a prod. If you do not pick up your prod in 24 hours, or if I have to prod you a fourth time, I will look for a replacement.

7. If more than half the players are voting for a player, then that player is lynched and removed from the game, and the day will end. If the deadline is reached before a lynch occurs, the day will end without a lynch.

11. Do not quote any out-of-thread communications with me or with any other player.
12. The day after you are lynched or nightkilled, you may make one "bah!" post with no game-related information in it.
13. Do not pretend to break any of these rules. Pretending to break a rule is punishable just as harshly as actually breaking it.
14. My word is law. Just because it is not stated here does not mean that it is acceptable. I am generally a nice person and will give you a warning if you do something I don't approve of, but it's always better to ask than risk the consequences (see rule 8).
15. Mafia members may kill and use a personal action in the same night.

. The procedure I have used for generating roles is the follows:

Procedure for generating a 9-player Normal Idea Mafia setup1. Start with
2 Mafia
and
7 Town
slots.

2. For each Mafia slot, roll a random number between 1 and 25. For each Town slot, roll a random number between 1 and 27. Assign the corresponding role to that slot:

2. Commuter
3. Cop
4. Doctor
5. Follower
6. Gunsmith
7. JOAT (62.5% 2 abilities, 37.5% 3 abilities)
8. Jailkeeper
9. Motion Detector
10. Neapolitan
11. Neighbor
12. Neighborizer
13. Roleblocker
14. Rolecop
15. Rolestopper
16. Tracker
17. Universal Backup
18. Vanilla Cop
19. Voyeur
20. Watcher
21. Vanilla
22. Bulletproof

Town-Specific:
23. Friendly Neighbor
24. Innocent Child
25. Mason
26. Miller
27. Vigilante

Mafia-Specific:
23. Encryptor
24. Ninja
25. Strongman

3. For any JOATs, roll a random number between 1 and 8. On 1-5, the JOAT has two abilities. On 6-8, it has three. Roll the appropriate amount of numbers between 1-27, rerolling Neighbor, Vanilla, Bulletproof, JOAT, Universal Backup, Innocent Child, Mason, Miller, and any ability already selected for that JOAT.

4. Now, go through and roll a random number between 1 and 3 for each role. On a 3, the role remains unmodified. On a 1 or 2, roll a random number between 1 and 10 and add a modifier:
1. Ascetic
2. Backup
3. Enabler
4. Even/Odd Night (67% Odd, 33% Even)
5. Macho
6. Neighbor
7. Night Specific (47% Night 1, 33% Night 2, 20% Night 3)
8. Non-Consecutive Night
9. Weak
10. X-shot (62.5% 1-shot, 37.5% 2-shot)

5. For Even/Odd Night, roll a random number between 1 and 3. On 1 or 2, it is Odd-night. On 3, it is Even-night. For Night-Specific, roll a random number between 1 and 15. On 1-7, it is Night 1. On 8-12, it is Night 2. On 13-15, it is Night 3. For X-shot, roll a random number between 1 and 8. On 1-5, it is 1-shot. On 6-8, it is 2-shot.

6. Remove any illogical modifiers. (Do NOT remove Enablers and Backups just because the original role is not present.)

Commuter: Weak
JOAT: Backup, Enabler
Neighbor: Even/Odd Night, Neighbor, Night Specific, Non-Consecutive Night, Weak, X-shot
Universal Backup: Weak, X-shot
Vanilla: Backup, Enabler, Even/Odd Night, Night Specific, Non-Consecutive Night, Weak, X-shot
Bulletproof: Weak
Innocent Child: Enabler, Even/Odd Night, Night Specific, Non-Consecutive Night, Weak, X-shot
Mason: Enabler, Even/Odd Night, Night Specific, Non-Consecutive Night, Weak, X-shot
Miller: Weak
Encryptor: Weak
Ninja: Weak
Strongman: Weak

7. Put all Masons in one Masonry and put all Neighbors in one Neighborhood. If there is a single player with the Neighbor attribute, remove it. If there is a single player with the Mason attribute, keep it and put them in a Masonry of one. (This is effectively a confessional PT that can be read by the Mason's replacements, as well as any backups who might become Masons.)

Twelfth.

Morning folks, this is going to be my first time playing outside of the Newbie queue, though I'm familiar
enough
with mostly-chocolate games, even if I prefer my games to be on the vanilla side of things. Also my first time playing more than one game at the same time, so hopefully I don't screw it up.

VOTE: Aristophanes, because I'm honestly not a fan of comedies in general.

Yeah I asked a couple of people I play with and we all agreed I'm too good for a newbie game :P

14 day days will be a new experience. Do days tend to go down to deadline on here or do lynches actually get done with some time left?

Normally they go to about 10 days. Sometimes dragged all the way to 14, sometimes they end in 1. It is longer than I was used to when starting here, my other two sites having 2-5 day long day phases, and 1 day long nights.

You get used to it pretty quickly though. Just remember we don't need to rush things too much.

My home site usually has 5 day Days and 24 hour Nights.
