The Tracker seems to be an issue.

Ideally, no investigative (Cop/Tracker) should allow a certain safe claim. In this case, Tracker was safe in claiming. Tracker on its own is scumsided, though, even without an RB.

One idea is Town Tracker, Town RB, no Mafia RBs. However, we would ideally have another setup featuring the Tracker, in order to prevent a Tracker from having full knowledge of the setup. In a Newbie, we need common roles only. How about Town Tracker, Town Cop, Mafia RB?

Tracker/RB is interesting because it exhibits a lot of positive feedback. Initially, Town will not get much results. However, after one scum lynch Town will get the equivalent of two Cops unless Mafia No Kills, which casts doubt on both results. Is this ideal for a Newbie?

We need RB plus something else. How about Doc+RB? This splits the JK power into two roles.

JK+Doc+Mafia RB seems interesting. Town have no investigatives. However, it's perhaps slightly Townsided even with the Mafia RB.

JK and Cop can be on their own.

Lol my play ended up working out for the wrong reasons.

So my whole plan was to just push Toto to get reactions from everyone to analyze for myself, especially Toto. Later on I figured he was town so I stuck with it.

I kept pushing Toto to...

1) Dissuade scum from killing Toto because Tenshii would (supposedly) help lynch Toto D2
2) Dissuade a potential JK from JK'ing Toto for more info on another slot + a free Tracker report.

I tried to get everyone to follow my little wifom gambit, but it didn't work out. I also didn't expect to die. I thought I was too lynchbaity to die.

I could swap Doc and RB to avoid two Townsided setups. Is Follow the Tracker much of a problem?

no not at all. follow the tracker is balanced i think.
i briefly considered messing around with useless scum roles/rolecop but p. isn't worth it in a newbie

This. And this is also a challenge in Jk/tracker. Roleblocker lynched D1 and two clears from the JK and tracker.

funny story: I loosely followed this game and right up until his flip I thought wino was obvtown
I almost replaced into the PenguinPower slot with the intention of shouting at people not to lynch wino regardless of my alignment-- even after the JK claim and counterclaim I wanted to lynch LQ would have been interesting to see how that went down.

(also if anyone likes the Matrix6 variants, my Backup6, where 1-shot BP is replaced by Universal Backup, is in signups now)
