I've put the pt detector under maybe because I'm still not convinced it is a distinct role from skitter's (because Flairs/Esp) could be lying.

Question: if there is another cop, why haven't they claimed, since we agreed to massclaim? Is it a good idea for them to claim now?

Ghost's role seems towny, but kinf of useless if scum know about it, as noted earlier. I think it is a reasonable assumption that the 3 INs will discuss the roles they have been informed about in the hood. In fact, that might be the point of it. Putting those together, it seems like if there is scum in the hood then scum get to know about Ghost's role, rendering it useless.

Wtf are you on? Ghosts role is easiest the most likely for scum bc it gives them info scum is otherwise not privy to.

1526 seems awfully dumb to be from scum. And ghosts role gains more power if scum if there was a case of an all town hood.

Obviously, I'm no better placed to answer this question than anyone else, except that I've thought more about it.

The main thing I've thought of is reaction testing. On day 1, I nearly got the mod to fake a poisoning - something like a day kill with a 48 hour delay - to see how the doomed player (and to a lesser extent others) reacted. However, I decided against it when ffery claimed the she cared about who died; I didn't want to waste her action.

If you were crazy, you could also do things like fake mod declarations of alignment. But I wouldn't do that, because I'm not crazy.

I want a legit lynch on ghost. And it's your best bet on a counterwagon at the moment.

It's a good lynch for town right now.

Shrug. I'd try anyway.

It would be more likely to confirm a town than a scum. Still goodstuffs.

Wow. Even though I'm partially wanting you to lynch me to help game solve, this reads pretty opportunistic.

It depends on what PTs exist to be eavesdropped on, right? So far we know for sure about the hood and that fferylit can (but apparently hasn't ) started a PT with a dead player. If those are all then okay Ghost's role looks scummy, but that changes if there is a scum PT. so i guess you are saying there isn't a scum PT. Why is that?

I have to say, that's not very strong, as I'm sure you'll admit. But yeah, setting a trap of some sort for scum seems to be your best bet. I'm not quite getting why you didn't at least try? Once your role is known, it presumably has no utility at all regardless of alignment.

I did a quick and dirty search of all Fishythefish's posts (all games) for the word "gambit". It shows up a few times, always as a discussion of someone else's gambit and whether it was something town or scum were more likely to do, and whether accepting the gambit was something other players were more likely to do as town or scum.

Here are the search results. search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keyw ... shythefish

With one exception, where people thought he was gambiting (and he wasn't, from what I could gather via a quick read of his earlier posts in that game).

I know MS players who would definitely use the messenger role as a gambit. From the search above, it doesn't look like Fishythefish would jump at the chance to set up a gambit with the ability.
