I see. Also to people wondering, my whole problem with neigborizer is being traumatized by Petroleum Jelly scum neighbor. That truly messed with me, to this day. I was a bit paranoid.

Non-normal components (under old Normal rules) were:

- Recruitable Traitor (normal traitors cannot be recruited and lose upon a partner lynch)

- Encryptor Neighborizer (town encryptors are greylisted)

- Encryptor Enabler (by virtue of the Encryptor being greylisted)

I was originally going to claim it entirely followed normal guidelines due to the Traitor being the greylisted role, until the reviewers and I realised that Town Encryptors aren't normal. So I had to rewrite the advertisement, haha.

I actually wanted it to be a plain old Neighborizer, with a Mafia Encryptor that enables daytalk for both teams. Daytalk would not have been publicly enabled/disabled in that scenario.

But then we realised that Encryptor only enables daytalk for your own alignment. So the Encryptor/Enabler pair was suggested.

All in the name of anti-swing!

I still think that setup was blatantly not balanced. I ran simulations (perhaps not with optimal strats) and was getting like 32% town win rate.

40% under simulation would be considered balanced under normal mechanics

32% is what I was going for

I consider team mafia reasonable evidence that team mafia mechanics constitute an 8% swing

Double Day Unlimited was picked for its ~32% winrate as well

Edit: just checked, DDU has 33% town winrate
So I guess I'm saying I understand having issues with intentional scumsidedness in general
But if so, take issue with both :P

Kat: When the setup is intentionally scumsided when there are weak roles, I take it as slightly unbalanced. I will leave it at that, as I think Dino understands my issues with it. Also I never considered neighbor basically confirmed town. Still unconfirmed and just a communication role, which I do like.

Chamber I would really like your critique and feedback of my play.

Recruitable traitors are not normal.

So, for the record, that game? Would not have passed a Normalcy review.

Because even if the traitor were accepted as a graylist role, chamber was a town Encryptor--which was, at the time this game was designed/ran. Not whitelisted as a town role.

So this 'Normal' game had two graylist roles.

I wish I didn't misunderstand the mechanics so much because I felt like that directly put me under a lot of unnecessary fire with my line of questioning. It wasn't until I was proven wrong by my flip that I looked back at the ruleset (for a third time) and noticed a link to the wiki that explained that particular mechanic further. It was the only one not explicitly outlined in the initial ruleset. =/
Glork and quadz08 are my favorite.

I enjoyed my game despite being sadly not active enough. Agree with chamber on the format.

Logic behind my fakeclaim was for it to be weird enough to just straight up be taken at face value because I felt like my inactivity put me in an unsalvageable position. Obviously that didn't work out. I was almost certain chamber was town and felt like if he happened to somehow be scum, the game was almost certainly ours, so I tried to do a little light framing his way.

chamber did, I think, end up cracking the claims open under the pretense of it being unbalanced, and that was definitely my bad, I was looking at the setup a different way.

I liked that una also fakeclaimed, it introduced some chaos which could lead to town clarity -- luckily it didn't. Even for me, I went into my last day 100% sure Una was my partner and exited it only like 50% sure. Thought suiciding was the best move and it all worked out.
did another ms user do something lovely? recognize their achievements here!
