i wouldnt have ever called myself out as cop. i was also really hoping nl, you were mafia and you decided to claim cop just so i could hammer you and then say "youre not cop, im the cop. die scum"

If you're saying I backed off last night, I went to dinner and then had to prepare with my team for a meeting that happened early this morning. It's a forum game and you do not have a guarantee of my time for any period of time. I'm not actually looking for unsolicited play advice here. I'm just looking for you to not walk away from this thinking that I somehow mistreated you because I did not.

Did you have no opportunity to engage with me in good faith afterwards? Because you were certainly around to encourage others to hammer me.

Again, you do not have the right to my time. You do not have the right to a good read from me. You do not have the right to have me play a skillful game. None of these are rights that you have.

And the answer is, no. I really did not. I had the time for the comments I made.

I'm not going to apologize for pushing a lynch forcefully. In any town game, I'm the only person I know is town. As town, focusing the lynch on my scum read and off of my town reads is working towards my wincon.

true, but if nl claimed cop, my thoughts are that hes mafia who got caught. therefore id always hammer that.

i dont get why a lyncher would claim cop in that case. id just claim lyncher and call out someone random as my target just to see the chaos from that.

itd be more fun to see the town just try to figure out if i was truthful in them being my target or not. ultimately itd also help me get my target lynched since most likely the town would ignore whoever i called out.

It is very easy to mention in-thread that you do not have time to finish the conversation. I do not believe that either of us were blameless in this.

Lyncher ALWAYS claims cop in this setup, because a nk aimed at them is a nightkill not aimed at their target, and they REALLY don't want the scumteam to figure out who their target is.

If you back down and let the night phase happen, either A. someone other than cop claim dies, nl basically confgoon. B. no one dies, nl basically conf lyncher, and (more importantly) lynched without outing the cop. C. There's a slight chance that no one dies and nl is a goon, which means that nl's partner reshoots the following night, either killing the lyncher or killing the lyncher's target AND the lyncher. Being the person to back down there makes it super unlikely you eat the bullet, so you've basically guaranteed you have 2 nights with no one on your ass to investigate and town is basically in autowin as long as you don't get run up on D1 after the cop claim.


Of course, nl has to claim cop in the first place to make that happen, but.... That's why Clemency is better than everyone else.

i mean, at that point im already dead so it doesnt really matter. they lynch someone else, and mafia shoot someone who isnt my target meaning that i got a greater shot of having my target lynched.

If they shoot the lyncher D1, lyncher just lolcats the rest of the game away. Being lynched doesn't suck for the lyncher. Being shot is actively good for the lyncher.
