RULES

General Rules.

• Follow all site rules.
  
  
• Mod colour

• Behaviour
  - Don’t be a dick. Don’t be toxic. Attack the play not the player.
  
• Don't talk about ongoing games
  - You may not talk to each other about this game outside of threads I have created for this purpose. You may not talk about other ongoing games in this thread.
  
• Provable randomness
  - is against the rules. Saying that you rolled a dice is fine, using dice tags or random.org is not.
  
• Claiming scum
  - by yourself is fine. Claiming scum with another player is against the rules.
  
• Text-based shenanigans
  - are forbidden. This includes tiny or invisible text, cryptography, or quoting PMs or PTs.
  
• Confirmation
  - You have about 48 hours to confirm your alignment by PM. Game will start sooner if 8/9 players have confirmed. Posting in a private topic counts as confirmation.
  
• Play to win
  - this particular game, not some future one, and keep it fun!

Phases and Activity.

• Days
  - Day 1 will last up to 10 days. Each subsequent day lasts up to 7 days.
  
• Night
  - Game is effectively nightless. However, a vengeful townie, upon elimination, will have up to 48 hours to submit a vigilante kill. The next day will dawn when I can process this action. If less than 24 hours have passed, I will give several hours’ warning that the day will begin early.
  
• Activity
  - You must post at least once every 48 hours or I will Prod you. You then have 24 hours to post in the game thread or I will seek a replacement. A player who has been prodded 3 times will be subject to replacement with no further notice. Saturday/Sunday count as a single day for prod purposes.
  
• Vacation/Limited Access
  - If you need to be absent for an extended period (48 hours or more), please declare your V/LA. While you are V/LA, the prod timer is doubled (96 hours/4 days). If your V/LA will last more than 5 days, consider requesting replacement.
  
• Prodging
  - A naked "prod dodge" does not reset the prod timer. To avoid being prodded/replaced for inactivity, include some game advancing content in your prodges, such as "got prodded; xxxx is still scum."
  
• Eliminating
  - Players are eliminated during the day phase by a simple majority (# living players/2 +1).
  
• Voting
  - Use vote tags or bold tags to place votes. You may shorten the player's name if it remains absolutely clear whom you are voting for. As long as it can be reasonably interpreted as a vote, I will accept it. Do not attempt to use this rule to engage in vote trickery. If I think it's a vote, it's a vote. Examples of acceptable votes: VOTE: Pavowski;

• No Elimination
  - Due to the mechanics of the setup, no-eliminations will not be allowed. Should the deadline expire with no majority, the player with the most votes will be eliminated. Should two players have an identical number of votes, the player who reached the tied total first will be eliminated.
  
• Twilight
  - Begins when a final vote is reached and lasts until I lock the thread. You're still alive until I flip you, so you can talk in any game threads you have access to until then, but no votes or unvotes will be counted.
  
• Daytalk
  - Mafia has daytalk.
  
• Action submissions
  - Kills in this game must be submitted by PM. If the actions are not submitted by the deadline then you do nothing. Once you submit your kill, a 2-hour timer starts *from the time of your PM* within which you may change your mind. After that deadline expires, your kill will be locked in and the next day will begin.

• Mafia have no night-killing abilities.
  
• Any townie eliminated outside of ELO may submit a vengekill. This kill is not compulsive.
  
• If a Godfather is eliminated during the day phase, their partnered goon also dies.
  
• A Godfather who is vengekilled does not trigger their partner’s death.
  
• When a Mafia team achieves 50% of the vote, they win.
  
• If both Mafia teams reach 50% of the vote at the same time, the mafia teams draw. However, if one side has a surviving Godfather and the other side does not, the side with a surviving Godfather wins.
