I thought the Framer was really powerful for Mafia, especially in a 9-player game, so I needed some hardcore stuff to counter it. After all, a cop guilty on a framed person could possibly lose the game on day 2. The framed person would get lynched, followed by the cop. So I decided to have both a cop and a rolecop. The rolecop could pretty much only discover the framer, and not the goon. The cop's results were very unsure. That's why I added the 1-shot bulletproof bodyguard, to try and save the day for town in case the first scenario happened.
I originally had designed the role of Andrea to be suicidal, which meant that at the moment Dale died(the bodyguard), and Jacqui(the goon) was alive, she would commit suicide. I didn't go through with it because that would have made the game very swingy. It also would have meant that Dale would be confirmed town in a way, so that was also bad.
I'm interested in hearing how you guys felt about it, I'm still not sure if I did a good job here. I might have given too little credit to WhiteLight though, because busting GuiltyLion on night 1 proved crucial. The moment shotty claimed Jenner, I knew he would die next, because the flavor name for mafia would gave it away.
